Well it wouldn't neccesarily be a second stint since he was dealt on draft night.
Anyway, if a deal like
THIS presented it self would you turn it down? We would then be looking at this line up:
Delonte / Daniel
Jamal / MLE
LeBron / Jeffries or MLE
Ben Wallace / Joe Smith
Z / Andy
My perfect off season would to be trade for Crawford.. split the MLE between Delfino and Evans... and possibly down the line trade Andy.
I would absolutely go psycho on Ferry if he made your trade!!!!!
Jeffries is one of the most grossly overpaid players in the league! The fact that he even made it to the league always amazes me... it's like the dude is in to some sort of witchcraft/magic that blinds GM's to the fact that he is one of the worst shooters in the entire league!
If he has a redeeming quality, it's that he is 6'11. But even at that height, he can only manage a little more than one and a half rebounds per 20 minutes. 52% FT%!!! And he is a SF??? He is one of those players that should be
(at the most) the 12th-15th player off the bench!
Any deal made with the Knicks at this point in time would be an act of complete desperation by Ferry. Crawford and Zach Randolph are only #2 options if your team is losing 50 games a year.
Guys of that caliber are always available. It's not like this is a limited time only offer and they are going to be pulled off the market if Ferry doesn't act now.
If there isn't a no-brainer deal out there to be made, Ferry needs to keep Wally and let things play out. Inevitably, some All Star caliber players that may be untouchable now will be very much available by the time February rolls around. It happens every year and the Cavs need to be in a position to actually pounce on that kind of situation this time around.
Guys of
"that caliber" are "always" available???????????????
Ummmm... Just because Thomas was a total idiot does NOT mean that the Knicks' players are all a bunch of D-Leaguers!
The biggest knock on Thomas was that the Knicks had so much talent, and that it was all going to waste under his leadership!
Jamal Crawford is legit, and at 8 million per year,
easily "earns" his paycheck; Zach Randolph is one of the few legit 20-10 guys in the entire league... players of his caliber
ARE NOT "always" available! In-fact, the only other 20-10 guy that was given a contract this summer, received a max-deal.
If we could get Zach and Jamal in a deal where we were only giving-up Wally & filler,
THAT would
NOT be a "desperation" move!!!!
A 20-10 PF, who is only 26, with 7 years experience in the NBA and a SG who is 6'5, and scores 20 per game and is only 28. If you remove the fact that they play for the knicks, people are jumping all over these two!
If Ferry got them both in a deal where Wally was the centerpiece, that wouldn't be an act of desperation... "that" would be a
Coup-De-Gra!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
