NBA Finals | Game 1 | Cavs (0-0) @ Warriors (0-0) | June 1, 2017 | 9:00pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I felt like that was Korvers fault. Priority #1 is stop ball. JR did that. Korver has to close out to Durant. Otherwise Curry has a dee Lane to the basket.

Korver was on the other side of Curry. JR was closer to Durant.

I wonder if there's a guy in the NBA that smells worse than Draymond Green? He just looks smelly.

Draymond yelling and one after his shot missed and he wasn't fouled.

D Jones said idk wtf y'all doing. I'm getting finals stats.

Are you talking about the Cavs' half-court D stats in these playoffs against Eastern Conference teams? Because the Warriors are a whole-new kettle of fish.

Even tonight, I guarantee the half-court numbers don't even look that bad. We have literally gotten OBLITERATED in transition due to turnovers and OBLITERATED on second chance points. Absolutely MURDERED in those areas. They're shooting pretty poorly in the half-court.

GS has 500x the ball movement that we do.

Pick up the Spurs game 1 tape and figure out what the fuck they do on defense. Their guys aren't really any more talented defensively than we are... should be able to play similar defense. Maybe start Shumpert on Durant and see what happens.

But it's not about talent, it's about discipline and I'm not sure the Cavs as a whole can mirror the defensive discipline that the Spurs do (when at full strength).

Looks like Windy was half right, Cavs lose while getting blown out

It really is kind of fucked up that the 73 win Warriors literally added the best player on their roster by FAR in the off-season. Like jesus christ.

Yeah I quit on the NBA it is a joke, I am not saying the Cavs are doomed but I am not even excited for the finals this year. The NBA is losing me. If not for the Cavs I do not think I would even follow the league anymore.

I legit think Dahntay Jones might need meaningful minutes in this series.

19 TOs to 4...game.

Cavs played one of their worst games of the postseason..

This was a very winnable game.

I didn't see anything from the Warriors that made me think of them as some kind of unstoppable juggernaut. We just gotta make some adjustments, not turn the ball over 10 times in a single quarter, and actually shoot better than 36/36/76 as a team.

I think we can do those things.

How anyone can say our half court D was fine is beyond me.
It has been overshadowed by our even shittier transition D, but we are literally giving GS a great look on every possession. Even when they're playing end of the bench guys.

I'd bet our halfcourt D rated out fairly well tonight. If we are talking about initial offense and what we were giving up on the first attempt.

In general, we weren't giving up a ton of open looks in straight up half court sets. They were taking challenged shots or ones where they were moved off their spots. Where we got murdered was on second chance points.

All the open looks and dunks they got were in transition or on scrambling players after an offensive rebound. Unless you want to argue that guys like West or ZaZa got open looks? Which we'll take all day.

Just gotta box out. It's that simple. We aren't good enough on D to give them 10+ second chances.

Like I said, I will be surprised if Cavs win 2 games.

We are totally under equipped to face this team, both in talent and coaching.
We can win 1 game with the best player in the universe having a perfect night. But I can't see this happening every night.
They know their advantages and more importantly know our disadvantages perfectly, and exploit them in an immaculate fashion. I pointed out those disadvantages enough times already so I won't be repeating myself.
But I don't see how we can stop them on one front, while not getting completely obliterated in other aspects. Especially with a coach that makes ZERO adjustments.

Hoping for the best. Good night guys.

Korver was on the other side of Curry. JR was closer to Durant.

Korver was completely behind Curry. If JR goes to a Durant Curry has either a pull up three or free lane to the basket.
