They believe that most republicans and the people that vote for them are stupid, racist, sexist, deranged and/or evil.(pick three)
Not quite. Trump voters and especially his continued supporters absolutely get those words regularly.
Republicans in general, or people that support their work in congress, are mostly seen as highly partisan hacks who at best are complicit in Trump's various evils and at worst sold the country out in order to steal a Supreme Court seat.
I'm not saying these extreme views are good or right, just want to clarify what I see from the left.
Let's face reality. If any other republican nominee had won the presidency, the same exact people on here would be declaring that he is at least three of those things.
A lot of people wouldn't though. A lot of the left is outraged in large part because they hate Trump as a person. They get emotional because he's a huge asshole who openly espouses all the things they've been accusing the GOP of for years. He's, in a way, done a huge favor for Republicans because the next guy who acts with any sort of decorum can probably sneak his policy past most apathetic liberals and pretend they are moderate because they act with dignity (see: Kasich 2020).
Just look at all the liberals who will Retweet people like David Frum just because they are willing to turn on Trump. It's preposterous.
Now, those various accusations would still exist, you are correct. Largely because Trump's policies, for the most part, aren't that far from the GOP platform itself. So yes, the people that would bother to pay attention would be making similar accusations because underlying policy would have the same outcome.
Trump exacerbates these issues and inflates the reaction because he says less than covert racist things, has a cartoonish ego, and is so clearly unqualified for the job even if we forget policy and personality.
