I realize people will find this an amusing/hilarious thing but uh...here ya go:

And I am going to sound a bit controversial here, but I welcome it.
As bizarre as this sounds? The NFL needs competition to help kick it in the ass right now and if done properly? The XFL could provide that. But again...it has to be done properly.
1. I'd "experiment" with a few things ownership wise. Perhaps offer cities/fans a chance at buying into a franchise in the vain of the Packers or the Seattle Sounders could be a route to go. I'd also try to find owners that have been not allowed into the NFL old boys club and approach them about owning franchises in respective cities they have ties to. Try to find some Lamar Hunt-types who have been spurned by the NFL.
2. Keep it in the spring. Going head to head with the NFL is suicide. If you get popular enough...like 10 years down the road? Perhaps you give it a go, but do not do it.
3. Go aggressive in finding talent. I often wonder if the XFL had somehow survived another couple of years if they would have been able to nab a young Maurice Clarett or Terrelle Pryor who was currently having problems with the NCAA and trying to make their way into the NFL. I'd target guys like those and even try to get a few current NFL stars to jump ship.
4. Try this when hiring coaches.

5. Give it time. I guess the orignal XFL only players play together for about 30 days? Don't do that. As soon as the NFL does it cuts in September? You hold your expansion draft and get some talent in that capacity.
6. Pick some good locations. I'd put teams in St. Louis and San Diego to purposely throw shade at the NFL. I'd also put a team to have it play in Oklahoma, etc.
Anyways those are my ideas. I'm actually excited about this news. I realize people will disagree but I really think the NFL needs something to not be pure shit again.
