So Long Jordan Clarkson ( aka Chucky McJumperson)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This year, he’s shooting 37% on catch and shoot 3s and he’s a 41% career shooter on wide-open 3s. Hopefully he takes less pull up / contested 3s here than he did for LA.

If I were Lue, I'd try to make sure that Clarkson's first few minutes were always with LeBron on the court, and then I'd make it a point to run some plays to get him open threes. Try to get him going early with wide open spot-ups and then take LeBron out and let Clarkson run the offense once he's hot.

More than solid numbers.

Clarkson is the most intriguing player in the trade along with Hood. One of the best bench scorers in the league and can get hot very quickly.

I've seen a lot of Lakers fans commenting they're upset he's gone. Clarkson's last 10 games - 19.3/4/4 off the bench. He's way more than just a throw in with Nance and his contract is not even bad. That's rubbish comments from the media. The key for Clarkson will be making sure he doesn't fall too much in love with his jumper and keeps driving the ball. He is a terrific finisher.

I haven seen anyone on this team in the last 4 years who could jump the passing lane and dunk the way clarkson did last night. That was such a beautiful sequence. All the old guys we had before would have either over shot the pass or got chased down.

Cedi? :chuckle:

I get the impression that clarkson is going to excel on a relevant team

It is always interesting to see how a talented gunner who is used to losing responds to playing on a winning team. JR Smith is just much better with LeBron because he is willing to accept his role as a supporting player and not just shoot to boost his stats. Clarkson could fall into that same category as fewer shots but way more wins is something he embraces.

Jordan Clarkson isn't a foundational piece for any team in the NBA. He's not even a starter for most teams. If you're below the cap, there's no reason to dedicate any money to a role player like him--because you're better off saving that money for a max player (whose value is always higher than the contract). However, for a team over the cap like us, Clarkson is a great guy to have off the bench. I hate making this comparison because Clarkson's a way better player, but he reminds me of Flip Murray, in terms of what he means to this team. He's a bench scoring punch that we need. He'll be a great second unit PG for the next few years.

I see the flip Murray, but he really is a Jamaal Crawford level player, I think that is a fair comparison. Both are combo guards with some length, decent shooting, but really can get to the hole.

If you want to go old school, he is Vinny "The Microwave" Johnson.

Explosive bench scoring is essential to a championship, JC is one of those players for us.

You are exeggerating... that dunk was awesome and surpising as I don't normally view him as a high flyer, but the steal was just a bad pass.

For comparison, he is Cedi's steal, and you could see how he anticipated that pass from miles away, now that's fucking impressive.

I agree about it being beautiful but Jeff Green could do this, but it's ok, because we still have him as well.
