Game 1 | Cavs @ Celtics Oct. 28th, 8:00PM (ET)

Re: Season Opener | Cavs @ Celtics Oct. 28th, 8:00PM (ET)

Well on the bright side we played like crap (only Andy and probably Z as sticking out as having good games) and we were in the game till the last possession.

On the other hand I really hope it isn't like 2 years ago where Lebron was on cruise control till the All-star break. That year he also played for the national team and came out sluggish like he did tonight

Re: Season Opener | Cavs @ Celtics Oct. 28th, 8:00PM (ET)

Sorry man but this loss is mostly due to LeBron. Forget the free thows, he dominated the ball and has been selfish all night.

I really cant believe tonight. We can learn from it but tobe honest we didnt need to learn anything to win tonight. Mike Brown shoulda played Mo way more and LeBron shouldnt have been selfish and dominated the ball every possession after the first quarter.

That game pissed me off more than last years playoffs but I kinda dont care because I know LeBrons gotta realise tonight is on him.

Sasha honestly wasn't that bad, why is he getting blamed? Wally was absolutely terrible, atrocious defense, couldn't shoot, basically he's useless.

Agreed. But when you don't win, who plays well?

Re: Season Opener | Cavs @ Celtics Oct. 28th, 8:00PM (ET)

oh well. 81 games left.

Re: Season Opener | Cavs @ Celtics Oct. 28th, 8:00PM (ET)

It's hard to read too much into this game because the Celtics have one of the best defenses in NBA history. We had a comedy of turnovers, ill-advised shots, etc. and still had a chance to win.

Lebron is not gonna struggle to get to the rim against other teams like he does against Boston.

Re: Season Opener | Cavs @ Celtics Oct. 28th, 8:00PM (ET)

Why does LeBron always miss his lay ups against the Celtics? and I dont care what anyone tells me it is not there dang defense. He just misses, and I dont know why.

Mo has got to cut down on the TO's.
l
AV was a beast tonight. He was the only player on the cavs that decided to play basketball tonight.

Re: Season Opener | Cavs @ Celtics Oct. 28th, 8:00PM (ET)

LBJ - 36 minutes
Mo - 31 minutes

That's why we lost right there. I know MB wants to rest them, but you have to play your best players in close games.

Not to mention his horrible lineups. Lineups with Boobie as the only playmaker and Sasha as the go-to guy will not work. We really should not see much time at all with Mo and LBJ sitting at the same time.

Very sloppy game, i was embarrassed half the time watching it with so many bad plays. Also the officiating sucked both ways.......

If the goal is to get ready to win a championship, then you develop the young players named Hickson early in the year to see if they will be able to contribute. Wright didn't lose the game, but I'd rather lose a game with Hickson learning than with Wright fading.

Tell me one thing....If you were all-star,2nd option in every team, playing good whole career and get only a few bad shoots per game, and play at 4 and making screens....Will you be happy????

I agree Sasha actually seemed like an adequate backup SG/SF tonight. Too bad out new starting PG looks like a starting PG from a lottery team :( (I still have high hopes for Mo but this wasn't a good game. Lot's of TO's and Rondo pretty much clearly outplayed him)

Re: Season Opener | Cavs @ Celtics Oct. 28th, 8:00PM (ET)

I guess going 82-0 is out of the question now.

Re: Season Opener | Cavs @ Celtics Oct. 28th, 8:00PM (ET)

big deal. we lost to the defending champs. we played sloppy and turned the ball over too many times. boobie, lebron, and mo, heck the whole team had a tough time making shots in the second half. that's not going to happen every night. let's wait until we play boston in a series before getting too upset about this.

Re: Season Opener | Cavs @ Celtics Oct. 28th, 8:00PM (ET)

Final analysis:

We cannot turn the ball over like this.
Mo Williams must take better care of the ball
LeBron needs to learn how to shoot free throws
Z needs more pick and pops with fewer off the dribble moves.

AV played real well. Hustled and got loose balls.
Wally is a liability defensively. He could not guard Powe

MB left a bad lineup in the game too long in the third. Pavs was the go to guy. Not good.

Boobie was missing everything. LeBron was less effective at the "4", and no one picked up the slack.

Moo

I think the Celtics were down and we could have killed them early, then Wally came in, and teh Celtics got their berrings by attacking him and having fun at his expense.

Then, MB proceeded to play Wally about 30 mins tonight
