Yeah, I'm pretty disappointed though for that reason. We just got a bunch of nothing for Korver, who was a desired vet shooter. There were multiple contenders who wanted him and we unloaded him for what amounts to 3 meaningless assets.
Future second rounders are the equivalent of a used napkin. Burks is a corpse. Guy adds absolutely nothing to a rebuilding team. The only way this trade is a net positive is if we flip Burks' contract.......which is to say you have to make two trades to try to win one. Clearly our front office didn't learn anything from our last foray in to the trade pool, where we tried this same thing and it was an unmitigated disaster.
Obviously wanted Korver to go to a good situation but this is another example of our front office dealing from a position of power and giving up all that leverage in favor of a bunch of spare parts.
I think Altman generally is in way over his head and this doesn't really do much to change how I feel about him. He can prove me wrong by getting something for Burks but I would imagine he will dump him somewhere for a middling player and another second round pick. We watch Korver play well and contribute to a contender and our return will be second round picks who will be in the D league or playing overseas 5 months after they are taken.
