2018 NFL SEASON Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Apparently, negotiations for Tom Brady's contract extension have already begun:

Just a bad game.
I think as this season was taking place people were blown away by some of the new star QB's in the league with talents ranging from a guy like Lamar Jackson to Patrick Mahomes.

You saw the Bears completely come alive with Khalil Mack there..The Rams had an amazing season..Saints did too. AFC? Again, Texans, Chiefs, Chargers all looked like really intriguing teams to watch out for.

We didn't really get that did we?
Kinda got this really bad, bland "emotionless car crusher" of a game.
Commercials were underwhelming as was the halftime show. (I'd have just had Big Boi do the show with a HBCU marching band, etc).

No denying the greatness of Belichick btw. Just...man. Felt like someone called the cops on an all-time rager of a party.

You’ll be hating from me next year when we’re 2-2 and media heads are calling it over, again

First off?
I hope they are done.

Second off?

Your team won a Super Bowl and is tied with Pittsburgh for most Super Bowls victories.

There is no reason to put on this pity party for yourself dude. None. It's like a dude bitching that his Filet Mignon didn't come with parsley.

Also the act doesn't exactly play well with Northeast Ohio sports fan who have had the national media as a whole:

-Ridicule the Browns
-Constantly speculate on where athletes like LeBron James and Kyrie Irving were to sign for many years.
-Called OSU "slow" and Big Ten football an inferior product
-Ridiculed the city/region as a whole. (ie: "I CAN'T FIND COFFEE AT 5 AM", "I CAN'T FIND SUSHI AT 3 AM", "THERE'S NOTHING TO DO", "THE RIVER CAUGHT FIRE!", "MISTAKE BY THE LAKE")

But yeah man...that Max Kellerman (a guy I don't pay any attention to) sure did a number on the Organization that uses sleep simulation tanks...

Eh, interceptions, happen. Fans go nuts every time they happen, but its not that big of a deal. It is when you throw one in the red zone, or throw one and give the team one so they're in the red zone.

Brady didn't play a bad game because he threw a pick. He played bad, because he can't throw anymore.

But hey, he made a great one to Gronk when they needed it.

But yep, they won this for one reason. Jared Goff.

all-time shit your pants performance.
Come on now... Yeah, Brady can't throw anymore. It's almost comical what hatred makes people say sometimes.

You do know this is a matter of taste/personal preference, right? Some people prefer shootouts, some don't. Just like in baseball.

Neither answer is "right" or "wrong". I personally enjoyed it more than a shootout, but that's just an opinion like anyone else's.
I slept on it and agree. This was one of the most tactical and strategic games I’ve watched in a long time. It was an absolute masterpiece.

The Patriots ran some sort of 6-4-1 defense all game. That was fun as hell.

My only beef is when is almost unanimous that people don’t like the no defense stuff. Than get a game like last night and complain about it.

I liked the game more than the KC shootout we had earlier if I wanna see teams go up and down I’ll watch arena football.

Same with nba these 115 games got old the second week

Seemed like whichever team scored the first touchdown would have a damn good chance of winning, so every single first down was important. Gronk's big play was huge, whereas it would have been much less so in a high-scoring game.

Edelmen was just fantastic. For three quarters, pretty much nobody but him could do anything. Incredible route running.

And the Rams tried everything! They doubled him, bracketed him, used soft coverage, etc., they could not stop him. The only thing they did not try was putting Talib on him, but, that’s because someone had to cover Gronk.

With that said, still, Patriots only scored 13! I mean, that was just a defensive masterclass.

Baker would never shit his pants like Goff.

It's no more Goff or Mahomes, Mahomes or Goff. Shit pants took his name out of that hat.

Yeah this game being a defensive masterpiece seems like a stretch. :chuckle:

The game sucked. Goff, predictably, pissed down his leg on the biggest stage. That one will sting the Rams for a long time, because that game was completely winnable.

Really wish the Saints didn't get hosed. Think that would have been a much better game.
