Agree, I though I think Clarkson is a guy that cannot help us be a winner in the future, but may not necessarily be a negative in overall development.

With his numbers this year, I think he will have value on the trade market next year before the season and certainly at the trade deadline. Biggest negative is his terrible +/- on D. Though he was much better last year. Still not great, but enough to think his spark off the bench is worthwhile, especially if surrounded by some competent defenders.

TT is likely gone at some point next year. He keeps playing as he has this year and he'll have a lot of value as an ending deal for a playoff team. Clarkson not quite as much, though if that defense can go from atrocious to subpar, his value goes up.
Agreed. And that is a key in that Clarkson and Thompson will bring more assets next year. Jr at some point should bring another second rounder just for his contract

I think and a lot of people agree that 4-10 are all in the same tier essentially. If we don't get 1 or 2 or more specifically Zion or Barrett, you trade down and pick up additional assets. It's fine to disagree, but I don't believe the Morant hype and I don't think there is a clear 3rd player in this draft. Trade down and get an extra pick and swing for the fences on one and take a quality player with the other.
I believe in the Morant hype, but outside of that, you may be right... It really depends on what you are getting. If moving down a few spots can net you another first in a few years or a blue chip player, then the Cavs absolutely should trade down. If the trade down gets you a guy that the team will clearly trade or only a couple of seconds, then I would rather keep the higher pick and cross my fingers.

But I get the sentiment... and you could be right. Good post!

Sexton with nice back to back games. He was working in practice recently to find lanes and going strong to the basket. In practice he has been working to utilize his quickness to fight to the rim. At the same time he has been practicing his 3pt and is shooting when free and rather to take more efficiency shots than 22 ft jumper. Much improvement once opposing teams played against him and has finally adjusted. Love his aggression. I still believe Sexton will be a great player with his work ethic.

A week ago he looked disinterested. He looked really engaged these last 2 games. If he can just keep up this effort, I will think he can be a player. He's been seeing things

He was a bright spot last night with getting to the rim, utilizing his speed advantage, plus knocking down some threes. He needs to learn some things about not dribbling himself into the middle of being triple teamed with no way to make an outlet pass.

Yeah for sure. That was something Kyrie would do every gameas a rookie. That's about reading the defense.

Collin did well last night. He is cutting out the mid range, attacking the basket, and hitting 3s. 4 assists last night.

Seems like he is doing what everyone wanted. I'm going to be pretty optimistic if he finishes the year like this. I don't get the Clarkson comparisons for as much as he doesn't get assists, he isn't a black hole. He gives up the ball willingly and rarely forces bad shots on 3 defenders. He gets it to guys to score, a lot of times they don't.

Love by himself really improved the ball movement. That can really rub off on young players when a star passes up an ok shot for a great one.

I just hope Collin keeps up this current play. To me it looked like it happened the second Rodney left.

Think he will be one of the players that benefits the most from the all star break. He has put together a couple of strong games and I for one would like that to continue but also realize he will probably hit the rookie wall at one point. Looking forward to the games after the all star break since we should be almost full strength, which has not happened all season. Want to see him work with Love/Cedi on the court at the same time.

Sexton Cedi Love - can’t wait to watch them play together. In practice Sexton has been looking for Love a lot so am looking forward to when all 3 can play together.

Great point about surrounding him with solid citizens. It will also help z and cedi
I think we have that in tt love, delly and nwaba
Clarkson mostly because of his game has to go as did hill and jr

If Collin hits the weights this off season those shots at the rim will get there

Agree, similar to how Cedi looks so much stronger this year. Last year he could barely finish a dunk and now does it with ease.

I'm sold on this guy's speed and work ethic which is clearly leading to rapidly improving 3pt shot. We were told he can't shoot but he's up to even 40% on 3s at the ripe age of 20. He's smart enough to continue to improve efficiency. After the early-season dust up with vets, he's avoided controversy and social media gaffes. That says a lot to me about being a pro and handling a terrible season well. Can he ever fix the D though? How much is it measureables vs technique?

HE SUCKS HIS CAREER IS OVER 40 GAMES IN

I was going to post the same thing, it seems the last couple of games things have started to click and the game is slowing down a little and he seems more comfortable. I think part of it is he know is the main ball handler with Burks gone now and with Love close to coming back it should open things up even more. His shot selection also seems to have got better. Not ready to say he is a starting quality pg for a playoff team, but this week gives me hope. We have a couple of east games coming up let’s see if he can keep it up.

Time to shut him down. Cant afford to win any games by accident.
