We should have be rooted for Landry to be doubled, that meant more efficient WRs were open last season. If you can get Odell for a 1st, swap late picks & a 3rd. You do it 1000x times.
- You have him locked up until he is 30 at the end of the 2023 season
- If he does then become a distraction you can cut bait or trade him with minimal dead cap. Look at AB & tell me who would be easier to move.
- You have his friend Landry here, who by some accounts in Miami looked like a distraction
- Your QB is on a rookie deal, and you have to maximize cap space while he is cheap
- He takes pressure off of all the WRs. There were times when Landry was doubled & a young guy was forced to make a play. That wont happen again.
- He is number 2 historically in YPG
The most over looked reason to get him...if you dont, someone in the AFC with cap space will. Indy, NY, anyone who has a decent QB in play will pull the trigger. They then become the obstacle for us. Thats one more fringe playoff team that could keep us from being a WC.
Take the sure thing, dont take the mystery box.
Oh...and he opens up the offense for everyone! No brainer here.
Is all this speculation about ODB because of Jay Glazer?
And then buffoons like the afternoon drive hosts on 92.3 get people all fired up like something is imminent. Fucking hacks.Yes, Glazer “predicts” OBJ is traded. That’s all he said.
There were whispers of him being traded last year. When you dont have a QB, a WR is pointless. I think they'll draft one but where they are at in the draft is too high.To provide further context to what Glazer said exactly:
Q: Jay, give us some bold predictions about the NFL off-season. Give us a free agent signing, trade, or another bold prediction. Thanks. —Robert P.
Glazer: I predict Odell Beckham Jr. gets traded this off-season. I think that’s bold enough.
Sign him while Duke is still with the team... They can be called the Deuce Dick Duo...
Good god Gilbert busted so hard. Out of the league before he even got to his second contract.
Easily the worst 1st round pick we've drafted and that's saying a lot considering a majority of the guys we drafted in the 1st round the last years aren't even in the league anymore.
Hmm, Menziel might be worse, sure he was much later, but he was a complete disaster and distraction.
Corey Coleman and Trent Richardson are debatable too. The only thing that saves Trent is we were able to get a pick back for him, but that doenst mean the 3rd overall pick being a bust might not be worse.
