Matthew Dellavedova

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm old enough to remember when people thought Delly was going to move the needle enough to push the Cavs out of the bottom 10 of the NBA.
#goodtimes

i didnt know enough information, like how terrible sexton was and that the cavs were trying to fix games trying to lose so they artificially kept him in the lineup

only 7 times out of 24 has sexton managed to be better than -10 while delly has as many +10 games than -10

Just hope that when his current contract runs out we don’t make the same mistake as last time and we make him a genuine offer
Not really worried about that. Delly signing with the Bucks was his "get paid move". I feel that there's a pretty tacit understanding between Delly, the Cavs and the rest of the league that he'll be here the rest of his career...the details of the transaction will be a formality.

Yep, I reckon Delly will play out his career in Cleveland, he’s a cav through and through

Probably correct...but i wonder what his next contract is going to cost us...hopefully we don't make the same mistake again...

I don't think his value is super high thankfully. We need to work out something with him that's beneficial for all involved. We certainly don't want to do a TT, JR, or more recent Nance type of over payment deal that screws us almost instantaneously and long term.

The Cavs didn't make that mistake. The Bucks overpaid Delly, and in the process screwed both franchises over. I do believe Delly deserves a long-term contract. He's been the best head coach in franchise history, and he even plays on the floor.

This has to be a joke...right? Have you guys even seen Nance's contract?

Maybe I missed something with his contract, idk, isn't it approx $11M per yr for four years? If that's right, is he worth that? Must be if you say so. It's not my money paying him.

Let's see - Lenny Wilkins HoF player and HoF coach who played and coached for us; Bill Fitch is a finalist for HoF right now; it's Fratello's 72nd birthday today and he only won 667 games as a coach.

I've Delly and I really hope we keep him but he's an average backup PG that should be paid as such. I would be ok with signing him for a few years if we pay more early and have team option late.

I do hope Delly becomes a coach.

I would like to see Mike Brown try to coach Clarkson to play defense. It would be like watching Bill Walsh trying to coach Garo Ypremian to play QB.
