Game Thread 2018-19 Season Game #62 | Cleveland Cavaliers vs New York Knicks | February 28th, 2019

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well, given the development of Cedi, Sexton and Zizic, I can't call this a lost season. Also, as for possibly falling to 4 rather than 3 or 5 rather than 4 is there really that much of a difference this year? After the top 2 it's pretty much a crapshoot on down, no? Besides, won't we be pissed if we tank to stay in the 3rd spot or move to 2nd and then the Bulls win the lottery out of the 4 hole.

Worst team: 140 balls
Second worst team: 140 balls
Third worst team: 140 balls

The odds have changed since Hinkie. I'm not interested in sacrificing current player development when there is no compensation in lottery odds.

You are over looking the worse case scenario of each draft slot and the decreased odds of each slot. Teams have a greater chance at jumping up into the top 4 now. If we miss out of the tier 1 players by one or two slots, I think you will be singing a different tune about these new odds.

From what I've read and hear most scouts think the tier 1 group of players in this draft is 5 players. I want to insure the best odds of getting one of those top 5 players.

I think the top 2 players in Zion and Barrett are the true prizes in the draft but alot of people think Morant, Reddish, and Hachimura have alot of upside. There isn't much talk of anyone after those 5 guys which leads me to believe there is a significant dropoff after the top 5. Like I said above we should want to secure the best odds as possible of getting a top 5 pick.

I'm not overlooking anything. For the Knicks & Cavs relative draft position to matter BOTH of them would need to fall out of the top four. Highly unlikely. With a combined 28% of the balls - rising each draw -- the chance that 2nd worse vs 3rd worse will matter us quite small.

In any case the team cannot just tell players not to try.

I’m not saying you TELL players not to try. But say a player is trying too hard - well, that player needs a rest, right? You let that player ride the bench for a quarter, and bring in a guy like Sauce Castillo, who is the LeBron of suck. That guy is so bad, it doesn’t even MATTER if he tries.

SUBTLETY is the key. There are more ways than one to say, “Easy does it, Cowboy!”

Finally a voice of reason. We don’t have to have the worst record it doesn’t help us. Even 4 th worst record does not effect odds much.

Fucking stupid. Knicks tanked their asses off down the stretch.

Why the hell did we take Stauskas out???
So sick of this tank bullshit. Who has worked for ? Sixers ? What have they won? We will be among the worst 4 so we have pretty much a equal chance. Right now I like what I see from this team. And rather be us than the Knicks

No. You can’t tell players who are fighting for their jobs and contracts to “easy does it”. One bad twist or shift and their career could be over. Obviously, we want #1 or 2, but we can’t show a lack of faith and caring in the guys we have now. That’s just stupid.

We needed that loss. We can drop to 7 from 3. It was important.

Our chances of ending up 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th in final draft position are I-dentical (same make and model tar*) whether we finish with the worst, second-worst or third-worst record. That's a fact, jack**.

The only way our draft position changes if we are 3rd-worst instead of second-worst is if BOTH 2nd and 3rd worst are not drawn in the top 4. Highly unlikely.

The Sam Hinkie Tank-and-Redshirt Strategy is so 2018 with the revisions to the lottery.

If Sam Hinkie is that great why is he not an NBA GM?

I thought Drew was tanking when he put Stauskas in. He didn't hurt the win tho

That’s what I’m SAYING! Don’t TELL them “Easy Does it”, but reward the try-hards for their efforts, by giving them rest.

I get it - Young Bull tries hard. Say, “I see you, Young Bull! I like that effort! Now grab some wood, for a quarter or two! You must be EXHAUSTED! Yo! Castillo! We need you in the game!”

Young Bull doesn’t have to worry about hurting himself on the bench. And it doesn’t matter how hard Castillo tries - he still sucks. Everybody wins!
