Lbj went to la to build his brand. I think he has hurt it immeasurably Should of stayed in Cleve. Stay home. Win or not win another title brands would have been greatly boosted.
Fuck that flat-earth idiot. He ruined this team because his woke.View: https://twitter.com/Tom_NBA/status/1102680941326188549

Why does it feel like Cleveland is not as bad off at the moment?
Once he is done playing Hollywood will turn it’s back furtherYep. It was an awful move for his legacy and his brand. Cleveland is a place where it would have been "OK" to lose in the sense that his track record and loyalty (if he had stayed) would mean that people would still be grateful to him as a champion. LA, totally different deal.
I think he thought his Hollywood projects would help his brand, but this is the age of cable TV and nine zillion different shows. No one gives a shit about him yakking in a barbershop on HBO
A lot of in the moment overreactions about LBJ ruining his legacy with this season. I think time will see a 34yo with a massive workload finally submitting to the inevitability of time. Lebron being so incredible at accumulating stats has allowed the gradual decline of his game to be masked. It is ok to get old as a sports phenom and ok to decline.
However I have to admit to finding this season amusing. If there is one thing about LBJ I have never admired it is his neediness in the basketball world seeing him as the GOAT, and how everyone he has played with in recent years has been just a bit part in that narrative. Suffocating pressure there, no wonder young players chafe at how overbearing he can be.
No wonder Love had a mental break playing with Kyrie and Lebron, and JR must have needed industrial quantities of pot to share the same dressing room.
No reason for him to have gone to. Could have built his brand from Cleve easily in LA. Now this stupid space jam remake is going to come out while he is sitting out the playoffs. The steph curry’s And others of that ilk are silencing laughing their asses offI think the biggest issue LeBron faces, in no particular order are as follows:
1. His awful defense in CLE was maked by an organization, and local media market, that truly suppressed just how bad his defense was. It's been a joke for close to 3 years now. No effort, lazy close-outs, minimal effort at help defense.......and that's a massive issue because he's tasked at playing the 4 on defense primarilY, so he's needed to rotate to the ri to help, or bust his ass to the corner to contest threes. And he does both horribly.
And while he continues to play offense at a high and efficient level, you NEED to weigh his contributions on offense against his horrendous defense to get a whole picture of his impact on the game.
2. Ramona Shelbourne (Lakers Insider and ESPN analyst) was on ESPN radio today laying into Bron (they didn't deserve this guy, and honestly, I think he realizes they don't deserve him, but his end game isn't just about basketball so I doubt he'd change anything). But to paraphrase.....she said "LeBron did nothing to ingratiate himself into the LA community. Going to Hollywood and doing movies and production isn't becoming a member of the LA community. He didn't do a press conference when he signed which disappointed fans and pissed off the media, and then he bailed on a planned Blaze Pizza function at the arena which was supposed to serve as a great photo op. On top of that he brought a crew of his buddies from Cleveland, which, there's nothing wrong with that, but he closed himself off from the LA locals, and sent the vibe he's cool with the friends he has. He handled the transition from CLE to LA in about the worst possible way possible."
So there's that.........Not only was he walking right into Kobe's shadow, now his every non-basketball move is being dissected by the fanbase, and right now, he's getting raked over the coals for his choices.......which was an obvious conclusion if they played poorly.
I do wonder.....with hindsight being 20/20....if he would've chosen the Lakers again. This season was a train-wreck of epic proportions, and really damaged his legacy, IMO. Missing the playoffs is crushing.
It was never really about this year for LbJ. Injuries derailed their season. They tried to make a play for AD and it didn’t work out.
When he signed it’s always been about this upcoming summer. They only question left is whether they can attract a big FA to play with LBJ.
The pressure is on Magic. If he fails, it will be epic. 4 wasted years of one of the best players of all time.
And even if gets another star the rest of the team still sucks.Well I ask again who are thy getting?
AD will never be a laker he ain’t leaving Boston/NYK it ain’t happening. The only guy I can think of is jimmy butler but he’s a headcase and doesn’t put them in the top 4 in the west
