2019 NFL Draft: Day 3 Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You expect a hit or miss 5th round pick to come in and be a factor with the rotating of Defensive Lineman?

I think one COULD. It's certainly better than relying on guys who have no shot of being good NFL players.

Genard Avery literally did it this year.

Yeah, yikes.

What makes a 5th round rookie better than Coley?

If you want meaningful depth at this point it better come from free agency and not rookie late round picks to come in and contribute meaningful snaps.

Could still find a mini gem on the interior as we raid UDFA.

The only thing with which I have qualm is overdrafting Sione by a round or so in lieu of what I thought were a couple potential starter safety prospects. If Dorsey signed off on Highsmith’s endorsement of Redwine, then so be it; one thing is certain and that’s we aren’t lacking athleticism anymore.

I’m excited to see what the coaching staff can do with these athletes who show some good instincts and aggressiveness.

Maybe the organization is buying into Harrison’s development a bit, given his wildly understated predisposition last season.

Oh its good to be a Browns fan when the hot debate/concern is who is DT #3
Especially in a league with lots of sub packages and pass rush packages with Garrett/Vernon kicked in on passing downs.

If this is your reasoning, why bother drafting in the 6th and 7th round?

This flawed logic is utter bullshit.

Kicker is a hole.

When was the last time a kicker was drafted and he was actually good? Janikowski?
Same could be said about finding a DT #3 or #4 in my opinion. Dorsey will be active getting in some favorite undrafted players of his, i imagine we get a couple of fat guys.

If this selected kicker was their guy, im ok with it.

Baseball guys would laugh at these sample sizes
Sure, but wouldn’t the fact that he was a career starter alarm you with the sample being so small?

Sometimes, you have to wonder about the deterrence causing so little attempts from 40+. Especially when the small sample sizes have poor success rates.

As I said earlier, he does have a big leg. Greg Joseph isn’t good. So, sure. I just would much prefer a 7th than a 5th if you have to draft the guy. Priefer is a good coach, we’ll see what he can do with him.

Whatever.

Drafting a Linebacker who didn't produce and isn't athletic and a kicker was...I don't know, did Dorsey have a stroke? Someone kidnap him?

Here’s the thing saying it’s an overdraft in the mid rounds. I hate it. We listen to McShay, Daniel Jeremiah, Dane Bruegler, whoever else. But the front office and scouts do so much homework on these guys, they blow out these “analysts” when it comes to knowledge. Elliot Wolf said he’s been on this kid for a few years. McShay probably spent a total of an hour max on this kid.

Let it play out. Is there a chance he could be a bust? Sure. Is there a chance he could be a hell of a player? Sure. How about we get to actual games and judge off that?

I think Mack Wilson at 155 is a very solid pick.

The kicker in the 5th has me head-scratching, but not because of him being a kicker. More so because of his questionable production. Priefer must like his tools.

A kicker is the reason the Browns didn't win the North and why the Bears were a first round exit. I have no issue with it late in the 5th. There is no reason for us not to trust in Dorsey.
