Cavs draft workouts

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I hope they don't pay him, but I definitely don't agree they don't value him going forward
They took him via trade because they valued Nance very much, and he added scoring pop off the bench for a title contender. He's definitely not in their long term plans.

I think they value him like they valued Hood, Burks, and Hill. They wouldn't see him as a pure expiring because whoever gets him gets a player that can score and possibly help a team. Some team over the cap could see Clarkson as their bench scorer for this season then give them the flexibility with his expiring contract to either keep him or go after a better fit next summer.

That may be how they should see him (like Hill) as deadline trade bate for the reasons you say, but I don't agree that this org doesn't value his scoring ability going forward either as he proved to be much better in a Cavs uniform than he was in LA.
Should be interested just how far down they want to grade the road before they start resurfacing, but I think he could be a part of their plans going forward if they are naïve enough to think they can win keeping players like Clarkson with a healthy Love and an overrated role player in Deandre Hunter.

Today, the Cavs worked out a familiar face, at least for Coach Beilein:

I think he may be the target at 26. It would be a reach though so I'm hoping we can buy a 2nd and get him then. I think Beilein will want a familiar face as we transition to his system. I could also see Jordan Poole signing a 2 Way contract with us if he goes Undrafted or at the very least play with us in Summer League.

Very possible. I’d also keep a close eye on Grant Williams, Chuma Okeke, & Mfiondu Kabengele.

I would prefer Grant Williams out of all the options. He has some play making ability which we lack. And some defensive upside. Kabengele is intriguing as well. Okeke could be good value but with his injury makes me a bit more wary of him. If we trade with Atlanta I hope we can get one of their 2nd rounders to take Okeke then and redshirt him next season. Wouldn't wanna use a first on him though.

I think Okeke is a big chance for us, considering I'm expecting us to be bringing in 3 rookies, having one sit for a while who still has some serious upside wouldn't be a bad thing for integrating them into the lineups.

Williams is better than Okeke, younger than Okeke, and doesn't have a torn ACL. I like both of them...but Williams is the clear better prospect as far as I'm concerned, in terms of ceiling and floor.

I have Williams ranked ahead of Okeke too and somewhere in my top 15 prospects. I just have a sense if we are still picking at 26 that Okeke is a good chance to be our guy.
