2019 NBA Draft Lottery

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm thinking if Culver is gone I would take Garland. Hunter would be my third choice then Coby White.

I wouls go Garland, White, Culver, Hunter personally. I'm very high on Garland and White though. Culver is in the middle for me trying to decide what his upside is. I think he's a future nice role player I think Garland and White have star potential. Hunter is the same as Culver. I just don't see the upside to justify a top 5 pick. Safe player sure but we need to take chances on landing potential stars.

I just like higher upside guys like Garland, Reddish Culver. THT and Bol Bol even though one might be too low and the other too high for our second pick.

Guys like Hunter definitely have their place on the team, but they better have a plan on getting a star somehow then.

I fully expect Hunter to be the pick at #5. The momentum seems to be heading that direction anyways.

I have this weird feeling they may make a play for Bol Bol in the teens.

With #26 I think it’s likely they take Grant Williams, Bradzeikis, or Okeke.

I dont see picking a guy that high who played 5 college games. I am find with hunter or culver. Then try to move up with 36 snd JR

I'm sticking to Culver..it's like I said before..2013 draft all over again..too many of players are bunched up together and no real standout player.

I lean towards Culver or Hunter at 5. I want someone who can play D and isn't a negative on offense. That being said, neither are terribly exciting, but after the top 2, there just aren't that many exciting players in this draft on the surface. That's the key. You never know which one of these mid to late round guys could develop into something special. That's why I say we should try to acquire as many first round picks as possible this year. Trade down with atlanta and see if we can get anything for JRs contract... and hope the draft class next year is better. Not much else they can do.

I think Culver goes 4th, either to New Orleans or a team (Atlanta?) trading up for him. At #5 the Cavs either take Hunter or slide back 1-2 spots, with one of the teams that wants Garland.

Make no mistake, John Beilein wants Hunter and his voice carries a lot of weight with the front office. They also want another ‘culture driver,’ like Sexton, and not everyone fits that bill. The only question is whether we can slide back a few picks and still get him. They may not want to risk losing him.

I think we may see them look to trade up from #26, using JR’s contract. There’s also been a lot of interest in getting a 2020 first round pick, so they could try to turn JR’s contract into that, instead.

If we sit at #26, they’d love for Bol Bol or Kevin Porter to fall to them, which isn’t beyond the realm of possibility. Otherwise, they’ll look strongly at Grant Williams, Kabengele, Okeke, & Bradzeikis.

I think you could be right about Beilein wanting Hunter as a elite defender , but this org needs to put their $ where their mouth is and take a elite ceiling developmental player not a meh ceiling defensive specialist
that needs years of improvement to be a all star level sf at the NBA level and he's 22 in December.
If they take Hunter than they are weak minded and have no confidence in player development making them cowards and turncoats. You cannot fast forward the rebuild

Makes zero sense. We move down to 10 only get 17 and we add KLove?

As I read the report ....
10+17 for the 5th pick is the core deal they might do.
Doing more, expanding the deal, to move Love to ATL, is going to be explored also while they're at it. Whether they can agree on what that takes is very unknown. And we weren't even told which team is more eager to add that, or if both have some desire, although this is an ATL guy so it's likely ATL sourced and ATL thinking/desire..

Paul Crane breaking this kinda deal would be....odd? Because, well, who the hell is Paul Crane?

It also makes 0 sense for the Cavs to move down 5 spots for a pick that was once on the table for JR Smith.

Seems like if Kevin Love is involved, a third team would also be involved, with a pick much closer to where we currently sit at 5.

For now I wouldn't take this specific rumor very seriously. It just doesnt make very much sense.
