Your 2019 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Those stats show me Miller being decisively superior to Hand in every season except for 30 innings this year.
I think the stats that are the fairest to compare is ERA and WHIP. The first year compared is a wash. The second year favors Miller and the third year favors Hand.

I don't agree. I think the first two years clearly favor Miller and this year is a wash (maybe, I'd still give Miller a slight edge).

It's not a knock on Hand. 2014-17 Andrew Miller is right up there as pretty much the best relief pitching in the history of baseball.

First year, Miller has a far superior WHIP, far superior K/9, and you're going to call it a wash?

Your extreme bias is showing.

Brad Hand's peak doesn't touch Andrew Miller's peak, and that's not a knock on Hand at all.

This is the first season of his career where I'd say Hand is decisively better than Miller. Hand is 29 and in the dead heat of his prime. Miller is 34 and coming off knee(?) and other assorted injuries. He's been banged up for years now.

All that said, Hand is still a top 3 or 4 closer in baseball this season. Guy has been absolutely phenomenal.

Just to illustrate how strong this year's AL catcher class is compared to last year. Perez would've been the easy 2nd choice behind Wilson Ramos last year

By the way, if you guys planned on taking advantage of the nice weather this weekend and going to a game, Indians are offering fee free promotion until tonight. Save you some cash.

Jose Ramirez this season: .206 AVG, .297 OBP, .310 SLG, .607 OPS, 5 HR, 12 2B, 28 RBI, 35 BB, 43 K, 74 games
Albert Pujols this season: .231 AVG, .304 OBP, .439 SLG, .743 OPS, 12 HR, 10 2B, 40 RBI, 24 BB, 29 K, 61 games

Albert is 39 years old and I'm pretty sure he couldn't even beat Tacko Fall in a 40 yard dash anymore.

I know Jose had two hits tonight, so this isn't the best time to be shitting on him, but still.

Those hits weren't exactly great at bats.

Given, I was at the game so I didn't see the at bats as well as I would have on TV, but I haven't seen a change.

I still want to send him to the minors. The biggest move the front office can make would be to "trade' this negative WAR player for an MVP-caliber player. Fixing Jose Ramirez is the single most important objective for this team at the moment.

His first at bat fly out was hit pretty well. Extremely small sample size but last 8 games, including tonight, he's hitting .264 with a .765 OPS and 7 RBIs. I would also like to see him get some time at AAA though.

His approach at the plate is fine. He has to fix his swing before we can ever think about seeing him return to the all-star caliber player he’s capable of being.
