Marques Bolden

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
His size and strength seem great. He isn't super quick, but seems to have good feet. What's wrong with this guy? Why hasn't he been drafted before? Love his length and ability to block shots.

He sucked at Duke. He can block the shot but not much else.

Sucked is a harsh word, he didn't get allot of minutes, really outshined by some 5 star recruits including Zion.

As for NBA, ne really is a old school and not the type of player they throw at center anymore. He is kind of Sasha Kaun 2.0 and will probably have the same NBA career as Sasha.

Just saying sucked is harsh, but he isn't a real NBA player either. so I agree pretty much, lol.

Not necessarily out shined he was a huge letdown at Duke for 3 years. It wasn't just Zion and RJ this year. It was Tatum, Giles (Who didn't impress in college either), Frank Jackson who were his fellow recruits. Then it was Wendall Carter, Marvin Bagley, Trent Jr among others who all out shined him even if they themselves were disappointments.

He was a consensus top 15 recruit at Duke and he ended up being really bad. He has no offensive game outside of 3 feet from the rim. He did shoot 72 percent from the FT line this year which was a shocking improvement. If he can become a better rebounder and keep the 72 percent FT percentage and keep blocking shots he could be a useful Center. He has Shot blocking skills no one has had in Cleveland in a long time. But when he was in college he kinda sucked compared to his peers and to his expectations coming in.

I was mainly joking, Sucked compared to expectations for sure, but on most other teams he is a 14/9 guy or so because he gets more playing time. Teams like Duke, Kentucky, etc...are just so loaded every year, good talent has to be great talent to shine.

But I don't think he is a NBA player, but most teams would of loved to have him.

Idk I think he can be a NBA player in the right system. He has shot blocking skills and a 7-6 wingspan which means it could translate. The league is starving for elite shot blockers. He is a okay rebounder got 4.5 in under 20 MPG. I think he will ever be a star but he can be a guy who gives you 15 minutes as a shot blocker off the bench if everything goes right. I am not saying hes not a long shot but he has one skill that will get him looks for a year or two.

Is he a good screener? Would go a long way

I misread the post. I read scorer not screener my bad. He's a willing screener not sure if he is good at it though. This is a old scouting report I found from when he was younger. Never matched his upside in college maybe he can here. I trust in Beilein.

Yeah sounds promising. He looks like a strong dude. It's pretty disappointing he doesn't really seem like he has developed much at all in 3 years of school outside ft%.

Seems like he has a chance to be decent. He has good length and can move his feet, good strength, doesn't seem to get pushed around, can protect the rim. I don't know, worth a shot imo, might prove to be a solid defensive big who can rim run and get put backs.

I’ll be shocked if he makes the roster

If he reaches his potential he's a better TT.

I really think he needs to find his way under Channing Frye’s wing and do everything he can to emulate that career transformation. Would go a long way to getting, and keeping, him in the League.

Do we know if Bolden signed a 2-way contract, like Dean Wade, or did he just sign one of those Exhibit 10 contracts??
