2019 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don’t have you on ignore.

I just don’t have a lot of time nowadays.

When you have time, I would love to hear your mid-season update on top prospects, future sleepers and international signings of this year. I know a lot to ask for, but I honestly like reading those types of posts and a lot of us here probably do as well :)

Hope fatherhood is going well for you thus far Bimbo. You saying you don’t have as much time reminded me that you disclosed you were expecting some time ago.

Wow... Are we looking at a potential 2020 ETA?

He is Rule 5 eligible in 2022, so by that season he has to be added to the 40 man roster, and from what I can figure out, the fast track would put him next season between AA and AAA (probably 60-70% of the season at AA and the rest at AAA), so in 2020, that would put him on AAA roster. Problem is the Indians like people to have a certain amount of AAA At bats, so low probability he makes it to the pros in 2020 based off of that. Now when it comes to 2021, he should competing in camp for a pro spot.

Now the question also becomes, will Chang/Mathias/FA type of guy be a solid everyday player? So if they don't take 2B next season/we have an injury or two, we could see him in the second half of the season possible. I think Clement is closer to the pros right now, but Freeman has the better overall talent. Right now I don't see him on the team in 2020, based off of past ways the Indians developed guys, but with no one solidifying 2B right now on paper, and if he is willing to move to everyday 2B, its very possible he could end up getting a chance later in the summer if no one can prove to be worth playing there everyday.

I was looking at minor league stats, Rob Kaminsky has pitched 14.2 scoreless innings his last 10 outings between AA and AAA. We got him in a trade in 2015 for Brandon Moss, but he was hurt in 2017 and struggled to start this season, but has been really strong in the last month. I put him in a potential bullpen candidate to start the season. OF Ka'ai Tom and LHP Tanner Tully both got a AAA promotion recently as well as Kaminsky did. Let's see how everyone does to finish the season since Kaminsky and Tom where once I believe top 20 prospects in the Indians organization, so this is a make or break type of season for them both. I believe Kaminsky if we don't add him to the 40 man roster, can walk away as a minor league agent/Could be picked in rule 5, if I am not mistaken.

Exciting times to be a fan of our farm players. Nolan promoted to AA. He could start next year with AAA and if he excels there too then we'll be pounding the table for a call up in June.
