2019 MLB Trade Deadline

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If anyone doesn't think this team is going to bring in a budget middle infielder to compete with and take at-bats away from young players, then you haven't followed this organization very closely.

This is ripe for a light-hitting grinder that replaces Kipnis. Or even Kipnis on a light deal if his market is non-existent.

Freddy Galvis

Even with the vastly improved play over the past month, the front office isn't trading any top prospects unless it's for a star under team control for at least a few seasons. Go get Castellanos on the cheap to plug in at DH, add another arm or two to the pen, and then let's take care of business against the Twins head to head.

Braves starting pitching hasn't been very good either and I LOVE their system. I know they signed Keuchel recently but he's just 'meh' to me.

It is just hard to believe we will trade Bauer being 5.5 games back of the Twins. Honestly if we take the series from them, if not sweep them after the All-star break, we have to buy not sell. I am not against doing a couple moves, but unless we get an absolute over pay, I think Bauer is staying in Cleveland!

Who would be your targets in theory from Cardinals and/or the Braves?

Braves, to me, don't match up as their best hitting prospects are not ready for 2019. They are outfielders Christian Pache and Drew Waters. I would not trade Bauer unless we know Kluber or Carrasco can come back. The return must also be able to help this year.

@AZ_ @Derek @EdMonix11 @BimboColesHair and anyone else who wants to chip into this question!

Who is your guys untouchable prospects in the minor league system? Who is only available for All-stars?

I do not want to trade Jones, Valera, and Freeman. We need our farm system to continue to stock our lineup with talent. I also do not want to trade too much pitching as depth is important.

I mean if we can get Pache or Waters I don't think anyone would be complaining in a sense, but I agree they don't have a ton of depth in the hitting department, but man do they have a ton of pitching! I would take LHP Allard, 3B/OF Riley, LHP Davidson and C Brown type of deal in some ways. Probably want a bigger haul than that, but Riley struggles with defense, but is young with high potential in the batters box, so he could be that DH/guy who plays in the field a couple days a week.

I am not as worried about our pitching depth honestly and this season kind of proved it. I am higher on Freeman than Jones mostly because Jones hasn't shown the ability to play a good defense yet. Also McKenzie to me right now I would put him with Salazar, ton of talent, but honestly, can he stay healthy?

The Braves would not trade Riley so to me the Braves are not a good match.

I would make a minor trade for a rental bat and trade Bauer in the offseason.

Well it would have to be someone like Riley as the center piece since he is like their young bat. Riley I think going forward would be better off on an AL team anyways. If they arent willing to deal him then probably a no go from the Braves.

Yeah, Riley isn’t getting dealt for Bauer now.

It makes sense to at least listen to offers. If a team is super aggressive and overpays, then absolutely do it. Especially if it nets us some good offensive help this season. Bauer is most likely gonna walk after 2020. With how we've been playing as of late we have a chance to make a splash this season. Also, with kluber and even the corpse of salazar coming back, why not?

I am not against it if the deal is right, but I don't see an overpay for Bauer when they only have a year and half of control and no ability to give him an extension. I personally don't want to lose what Bauer actually does in the clubhouse for the other pitchers either, unless they truly do over pay. Like I said earlier, I would only take the trade from Atlanta if we get Riley, Allard etc type of deal. I guess I am siding on lets keep Bauer unless we get an offer we cannot refuse and I don't like all the offers in some ways I am seeing from what analysts are suggesting.
