Your 2019 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Anyone with "inside" info -

Did Sabathia/Brantley actually want to stay? I've always heard Sabathia had no interest. I also heard Brantley didn't either. Anyone with insight?

Sabathia would have liked to stay from what I remember. But the Indians could not take the chance of him walking and not getting anything in return. (It was a different situation back then. ) Brantley I'm not sure, I think he would have stayed if the money was right. Problem is with Brantley, he has a injury history. If he stays healthy, he is what he is this year. If he gets injured he cripples the team with that salary. Loved Brantley. But understand why the Indians moved on.

Brantley never even gave the Indians a chance to match the money offered elsewhere. There's no guarantee the Indians match, but Brantley never had any intention of staying.

From what I remember Sabathia likes Cleveland and would have stayed here if the money would have been comparable, but Cleveland knowing like a New York was going to out bid them dealt him.

Brantley didnt want to stay, from what all the reports have stated.

I wonder where Lindor's head is at in terms of his future right now. He repeatedly said, "my city" tonight, and just yesterday seemed to be pushing the FO to be buyers. I also wish I knew more about the television rights deal and its potential impact.

Honestly I think Lindor wants to stay in Cleveland, but if he can only get 18-20 mil from Cleveland and 30 Mil from another organization, I cannot blame him in some ways for leaving. It is the, he will embrace Cleveland since they have embraced him and he likes it here. If for whatever reason he leaves, its because of the business side of things, not because he wanted to leave.

As a small market team, I wish baseball had a better playing field when it came to paying guys since we could have kept a lot of good players over the years if they did.

Still shocked Bieber got the MVP. Feels rigged. Rigged for Cleveland for once.

Chapman got 3 strikeouts as well, Gallo essentially hit the winning HR. Was the ASMVP a vote thing? Baseball fans on social media seem to be calling it a joke.

MLB decides internally. There was definitely some pandering going on for Bieber to win the award, but I’m not complaining.

Sure you could say Chapman, Gallo, and hell even Brantley would have been just as deserving, but Bieber’s performance was right up there with them.

If you’re making the argument that 4 different guys had a case for MVP, it’s clear no one stood out amongst them.

Multiple deserving players in games where they only get 1 inning or 1-2 at-bats?

Flummoxed.

It was an online vote

Jason Lloyd was on 92.3 this morning and he said “don’t be fooled, MLB picks the MVP”

This is correct.

In the event that the fans pick someone ridiculous.

Boaty McBoatface can't win it every year.
