2019 FA and Offseason Mega Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If Westbrook trades break down or they don't find the assets to get it to work, it wouldn't be bad to be in talks with OKC. Love, TT, and JRs contract for Adams, Schroder, Patterson, SGA, and a good pick could work for both sides. OKC can use JRs contract to get someone like Allen Crabbe. OKC now has a starting 5 of Westbrook-Crabbe-Gallo-Love-TT. They still mantain their chest of assets for the future.

The Cavs get SGA and a good 1st round pick. The salaries should bring the Cavs below luxury tax. They might be able to flip Schroder. Adam can be the defensive anchor for Garland and Sexton. Patterson is another expiring. Maybe they can get Bazley too.
It would be a bad idea to trade for a player that doesn't want to be here because they could quickly turn into a locker run cancer.

Adams is badly overpaid but would help our defensive issues.. still not sold we should trade for him though.

Who else are we going to pay while our best players are on rookie deals though

I wouldn't mind going after Trey Lyles at this point if we can get him on a deal that allowed us to keep him long term if he works out. He is young and could soak up minutes at the 4 if we move on from Love.

I think if we can trade some of our vets and move JRs contract to get under the luxury tax, we could use part of the MLE on someone like Lyles.
With you on Lyles.

I wonder what the reasoning was that he didn't want to come to the Cavs. I wonder if he thought he would get traded mid season if LeBron stayed. He is from Hamilton, ON so the Cavs would have been driving distance for his family to come see him play.

I agree that if he still doesn't want to play for the Cavs that I wouldn't even think about making that trade. His feelings about the Cavs might have changed especially if he could be playing in OKC instead.

Westbrook goes to the Rockets for Chris Paul (lol) and 2 more first rounders ,,,I guess Jr is not going to be involved here...looks like he just gets waived now.

When rumors of Rockets being interested broke a few days ago, I looked at their roster and came to the conclusion that CP3 would basically need to be involved.

The salaries just made sense.

Now, Westbrook and Harden get reunited and can show off all the iso ball they've each learned.

Houston might be the best spot. Now Harden and Westbrook have someone to compete with when it comes to stat padding. Since they both are gonna want their stats might elevate each others game.

Go get Adams

But why? Only under contract for 2 more years. No guarantee he resigns with us after those 2 years and we won't be competitive this year or next unless all our draft picks hit. Which is highly unlikely.

Watch Chris Paul find his way to the Lakers. Some way, somehow.

I was thinking the same thing too. The Lakers will most likely make multiple trade to get the salaries to make it work. Danny Green might as well not unpack his boxes because he will be on the move. KCP has been getting overpaid for years waiting for this type of situation.

KCP has a defacto no trade clause. KCP ain't waiving it to leave LA unless he gets extra $$$$. Also wouldn't make sense for the Lakers to trade their whole team for CP3 when they don't got the depth to make a trade like that. Only way CP3 ends up in LA is if hes bought out which is impossible considering the amount left on his contract.

If LeBron wants CP3, the Lakers will make it happen. LeBron probably get AD to pout with him till it happens. KCP has known he is a trade chip for years and that's why he was over paid. Rich Paul will have him waive his no trade.

Again only way KCP will waive it is for more $$$$$. Which I am sure he will get. But last year every Lakers player was on edge worried about getting traded except KCP according to Josh Hart. I think the Lakers will be content with how things are right now. They have the freedom to try and add another star next offseason with the contracts players signed. No need to force it for a 36 year old CP3. Even LBJ knows CP3 ain't a difference maker at this point. He will patiently wait for him to get bought out some where. I wouldn't be shocked if CP3 is rerouted to Miami with Miami sending expirings and making the 2023 pick unprotected.

KCP has a 15% trade kicker and 15% in incentive which I have to assume Rich Paul would design to get him if he was traded.

My guess is CP3 will be begging LeBron to try to make it happen. Maybe you are right that LeBron knows CP3 is over the hill but maybe CP3 can convince him to push the Lakers to do it. I can't think that CP3 is happy to be going to OKC right now.
