Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
TT is listed at 6'10 but I agree that as time goes on his profile as a player becomes less and less useful. He could be a stop gap center for some team. He is a good rim runner that rebounds really well and is switchable on defense.

I could see some team taking him on more for his expiring contract but maybe with the intention of using his bird rights to sign him on a short term deal. He is going to take a major pay cut next summer, where he lands could soften that blow alittle if they don't have better choices.
I like Thompson on the Celtics...they have a need for him and I think he would fit well there.
Don't know what they would be willing to give up for him if much of anything but they need someone more defense oriented to
sub in for Kanter.

I see TT as a great floor runner and also an energy guy that can grab rebounds for days. He is certainly a great player, but he is carrying a burden that is the 18.5M.
Good player? Sure. Overpaid? Absolutely.

I dont think he is agreat player but he is good and has uses those uses and his expiring contract will have valueby the deadline

So Boogie Cousins just tore his ACL. He was projected as the Lakers starting center. Maybe, just Maybe, they would have an interest in acquiring Tristan? Anybody think this is a possibility?

Problem is what would we want for him? or maybe more precisely, what could we get. Yeah I would take a first round pick, but they have none. Is there a single young guy you would take?

Future 1st, maybe?

I don't see the panic.. LA could move Davis to center and LeBron to PF, they would still have McGee to soak up the few minutes.. there will be some ring chaser to show up as well..

There are still several high profile FA centers. Gortat, Howard, Zaza...
Howard specifically is a team killer. Gortat is definitely useful, ZaZa a little long in the tooth.. Tristan is a team player, who knows his job is rebounding and cleanup. He is not going to be drama or worried about touches.. I could see him helping Houston or the Raptors or the Nets in a playoff push..

Gortat's the same age as Zaza...in fact, they'll both turn 36 within a week of each other this February. Can't count on them to contribute anything on the court this year.

Gortat seems to have been more active but OK.. I think Tristan has more in the tank than either of them.. I think Tristan is a trade piece that could net us a pick and a bad contract from someone.. We shall see..

Wow would never have guessed that ever
