I know @Lee has discussed Arizona before but myself and 7 or so of my buddies are heading to the game that weekend and staying 3 nights in Glendale. What are some recommendations for good local food as well as some brewery/bars to go too? Also, what are some cool sight seeing places to go or other unique things to do? Lastly, where is the best place to tailgate or bar to go too before the game on Sunday? Thanks in advance!

I don't know tailgating too much but there is a district called Westgate by the stadium which is the west side party district. I am more north phoenix and Scottsdale which is about 40 mins from you. Tons of things to do, I can give you a bunch of ideas. PM me and I will give you my number and we can chat.

I lived in Goodyear for about 2 years when I first moved to Arizona, which is fairly close to Glendale. Like Lee said, Westgate is definitely the place to go. There’s several bars and restaurants there including a yard house and the NHL arena where the Coyotes play. You may also want to Uber downtown and catch a little of that scene. Copper Blues and Bitter and Twisted are 2 places you should check out. I always have a blast there.

The downtown scene has exploded, depending on his age, downtown is this huge hipster scene with really neat bars. Cobra arcade bar to play video games, the vig is a good gastro pub, Angels Trumpet Ale House for the beer lover, monarch theatre and bar smith are night clubs downtown if you are younger and like that scene, bitter & twisted if you like high end, over priced, fantastic crafted cocktails, Crescent Ballroom for live music, FilmBar is a bar showing foreign films or old movies but also a bar.

Then old town Scottsdale is the beautiful people scene, area called the district packed with hot girl after hot girl whos shit don't stink, lol. Or go up north to Jerome and shop and eat in an old mining town, go 30 minutes to Sedona and hike in the red mountains a bit, or 30 minutes the other way to Prescott and enjoy some Meade on whisky row or eat at the Prescott Brewing Company and enjoy a well crafted beer and shop at the unique shops in downtown.

Or go to a casino, talking stick is my favorite, or catch the aquarium, or eat at Midevil Times, or go do some indoor parachuting, all in the same area of Scottsdale.

Really a ton to do and i am just mentioning the tip of the iceberg honesty.

WHy did you move all the way out to Goodyear, that is so far out of town. Was your job out that way?

Yeah Lee, I’m 44 and have been married for almost 15 years, but my wife and I have been “cocktail” drinkers before we lol even met so when we do go out we don’t mind paying a little more for drinks such as those at B&T. They are a little pricey, but damn they’re effective. Copper Blues tends to have live bands in the weekends that often plays 90’s music that we both grew up on. It’s also a nice spot before and after catching a show at Stand Up Live.

Old town Scottsdale may be a little to much of a hike depending on where they are staying in Glendale.

The Southwest Browns Backers are also having a party the night before the game. There’s all kinds of info on there site. Here’s a link to it:

My wife got recruited by the CTCA in Goodyear when we lived in Houston. Her sister lived in Chandler and since we are both nurses, the move was easy there are so many nurse jobs out there. Since the Indians hold spring training in Goodyear, I took it as a sign. After she quit the Cancer Treatment Center of America we moved to Chandler to be closer to the family. Been in Chandler for about 4 years now.

Both seem so far to me, lol. I used to live in McCormick ranch area of Scottsdale for 8 years, but after my divorce I moved to NE Phoenix right on the Phoenix/Scottsdale border by Dessert Ridge

We love Chandler. We’re actually having a house built here that should be ready around March.

Chandler is a nice suburban area, but far Southeast to me. But if work and family is there, why would you want to live anywhere else.

Do you ever catch any Browns games at one of the billion official SWBB bars?

I think a group of us are going and staying in Scottsdale. I'm going up Friday and leaving Monday.

Lots of fun places in Scottsdale, let me know if you need any help with things to do there

The answer is Westgate, but, given there's a large group, honestly, go downtown. Someone mentioned Bitter and Twisted; Awesome fucking place. Elite cocktail place, fucking insane food at a low price point. Drinks here are... Going to be in the 9+ range at almost any location you go.

I'm pretty sure we were the same major/year in college, so drop me a message if you're looking for things/spots specifically for food (more of an eater than a drinker at this point).
