New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Boys might be the best show to drop without the massive marketing campaign behind it in a long time. I felt like this show came out of nowhere which is unusual in today's tv market. It was a surprise to me how good it was. A fun find to binge this weekend.

It's an interesting take on the superhero concept. It's basically about if superheroes aren't actually purely good and well intention like most superheroes are. The Boys are a group of normal people who decide to fight back and take down a group of superheroes called the Seven. The Seven are basically a knock off version of the Justice League.

3 episodes for me. So far so good. It's pretty enjoyable.

Another life is solid if you need a scifi adventure. Enjoy me some Katie Sackhoff

The series is based on the books
, although obviously it's taking some visuals from the games.

Witch (see what I did there) is why he only carries one sword and the other is with his horse.

I’m sure if the show does really well, we may get into the games stories, but most Netflix shows only last 2-3 seasons.

I don't believe they have the rights to the game, which means no game-exclusive characters or stories.

That's a bummer. Never read or care to read the books. Was hoping for some game stuff.

A decent amount of characters are still involved as they’re from the books. The premise is very similar.

The Boys is awesome - I binge watched it all in its entirety. Karl Urban is awesome same for Frenchie, the scenes with Hughes were a bit ho hum and ditto for Annie - which sucks as they are one of the main characters. For fans of Supernatural, Eric Kripke was heavily involved in The Boys and you can see some ode to Ohio in a few scenes. Be warned that there is blood and sex, so not recommended for kids.

The stuff about Toledo, Sandusky, and Akron was hilarious. And the Cedar Point reference were great too. Kripke loves him some Ohio.

Yeah, I just finished The Boys last night. It was the "ok, one more" scenario several times. Then when I saw there was only one left, I couldn't just go to sleep. I thought it was great.

We learned how Ariel probably has sex too, so that was cool.

That show does a great job of keeping the viewers off balance. Just when you think you've figured something out...you'd be wrong.

The guy who played Hughie did a great job. I was never sure exactly how far he'd go, or what he was willing to do...and he wasn't either.

It's weird how the Boys got so little pre-release buzz. The last month of tv has really improve my thinking of this year's tv. The Boys, Veronica Mars, Handmaid's Tale, and Euphoria has been pretty much the best tv for me of the last year and they all came out so close to each other.

I also finally watched Sneaky Pete season 3. I liked it but if it's the best they could do in just their 3 season, then it deserved to get canceled. It felt like a show that had been on for 8-10 years and had nothing left but to drive some beats that kept fans happy enough to come back.

Netflix canceled the OA. I think this is the moment of Netflix crossing the line of not caring about being part of prestige TV. A show this good was going to catch on at some point.

Brit Marling is probably getting her door knocked down right now by the other studios. She is the type of creator that HBO or AMC would have found a way to keep the OA going just to keep the relationship with Brit Marling going.
