Arizona for the Browns game in December

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Rent is expensive here compared to buying. Its because we are such a fast growing city and people moving here usually rent the first year so there is competition for renting places.

Right, and it’s two fold; People really can’t afford to eat out, and places cant afford ridiculous rent in areas where people can afford to eat out.

But, that also means the outer parts of the city are starting to get better places!

I... don't think we have the same taste in alcohol.

I also despise Guy Fieri and "DDD"

Love the rest of your suggestions.

Bootleggers and Over Easy are two DDD places that were popular before DDD, both are super solid.

Cuisines to avoid here; our Asian food is largely awful. We’ve already ruled out steak. We also have gross water, so pizza really isn’t great here, nor are most baked goods.

I am a vodka straight guy, but the apple pie moonshine is just something unique and they make it there.

And hate Guy all you want, and justified, but he gets his suggestions from the people of the area. The places on his show are solid for sure.

I know the issue with our food scene is 100% the cost of places. Rent is... nuts.

But yes, for al of you coming; we have a shit ton of top notch breweries. Like, really top notch.
Anything you can recommend besides Arizona Wilderness, which I know I'll be visiting?

I love all alcohol--but if a drink's base spirit is vodka, I basically rule it out. It's just a waste.

When I'm making things at home, Gin and Whiskey are my two go-to base spirits, and amaro's are my favorite liquors.

You also quoted me quickly before I got to edit my post :)

If you go to NYPD its a solid piece of pie. But the water is gross, they supposedly fly in water from NY, not sure I believe them, but its pretty decent for NY Pizza though, my NY friends agree.

Asian food is touch and go. We have some good Sushi places, but in general it sucks, which I hate because Chinese is my favorite.

If you go to AZ, go to the one in Mesa. I’m not sure the OG downtown has a full menu, but the Mesa one is five minutes from my house. Duck fat poutine fries and bomb ass burgers.

I’m not a beer drinker, so I can stick to ones that have great food. I love San Tan Brewery in downtown chandler, and it’s super popular. Everyone loved twin peaks, but I’ve heard beer wise, since getting bought out it’s went down hill. Great food though.

I am not sure you are here long enough. Go to the zoo in Glendale if you like zoo's. Its a privately owned zoo called Wildlife World Zoo. I love Prescott for the day trip, Spend some time losing money at Talking Stick, lol...The Aquarium is amazing if you like that, its in Scottsdale.

Lots of stuff to do, just need an idea of what you like.

I meant other breweries :chuckle: He's talking about a shit ton of top notch breweries, and the only one I ever see at major beer snob events is Arizona Wilderness.

I am in North Phoenix so I only go to the Phoenix Breweries. There are 2 Brewery scenses here, one east valley, on Phoenix. Some Breweries have tap rooms in both areas, my favorite are:

Huss Brewery, the have a Coffee Kolsh, amazing, but I can only have one. Wren House, Sonoran Brew Company, Four Peaks is Bud owned now, but its the grandfather of the area, and Helton brewery is very good.

Never been, but I gave you a list above, there is around 50 tap rooms in the area.

Give me a call when you are here, I would love to join you for a day of beer drinking, one of my favorite things to do. Just go online and pick some out or we can go to some of my favorites or a combo.

Where are you staying again? I’ve kinda spread my recs towards where I live.

Spot on way to describe it.

Lots of beer important places, but the EV is heavy on food and brew, maybe at the cost of the beer (I don’t drink beer).

Haven't decided yet.

Recommendations?

How much do you not mind driving? If ok, Tempe. It’s probably the most central area to doing things outside of the stadium. Mesa Riverview area works, too. There’s a hotel over by Sloan Park where the cubs play. It’s within ten minutes to Mill Ave, and right at the upper 202 so that you can use it to quick travel to Scottsdale via 101N, or to the 60 which feeds you to chandler/Gilbert/rest of Mesa.

Cost wise, not sure. I have never stayed in a hotel here lol
