2019 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Oh boy I hope they retain Frankie and all these young kids grow under him. That's how you maintain a dominate organization. Frankie made us a winner the second he was called up. These kids we stockpiled are looking good. Organization is looking good.

This front office is trying their best to resign Lindor, and I personally feel Lindor will sign if we get within 10%ish percent of anyone's offer (aka a home team discount), but with his market value projected at 30+ mil area, can we afford to do so?

If not I think we are setup well on paper to try and replace his production going forward and this team does focus on signing/drafting the best athletes they can find as well. Lets hope they can figure a way to afford Lindor and Ramirez long term since those two guys are cornerstones on any solid team.

My goodness....

With the Indians logjam of young outfielders in the MLB and upper minors, I wonder if he ends up at 1B....

Don't think 3B long term is all that realistic.

You're generally spot on, but I do hope you're wrong here.

Not sure his bat profiles well enough to be a 1B, or at least as well as it could at 3B.

He's got some natural athleticism even as he grows, hopefully he can become an above average 3B and push Ramirez to 2B.

Just thinking out loud......

Man, there's just a lot of depth and competition at nearly every position now. The outfield situation is well documented, 1B/DH got more crowded with this years additions and now the infield could logjam too. It's nice that most of these guys are athletic enough to be positionally versatile.

Jones now in AA, Freeman nipping at Jones' heels in A+, Arroyo and Chang in AAA.

I know they all don't play the same position, but as long as Frankie and JRam are Indians, those four guys are gonna be vying for basically one infield spot (2B/3B).

Good problem to have. Just gonna have to let the dust settle.....

Just thinking about how much more valuable a Jose Ramirez is at 2B if you're able to duplicate his production by whoever fills the 3B vacancy.

I'm more inclined to believe Jones provides that compared to Chang/Arroyo/FA. Just wish Jones were about half a season more advanced than he is now.

Think its likely the Indians go with the (insert veteran INF) to get them to June and bridging Jones' arrival.

Good lord we are loaded with middle infielders.
Most of the guys projected at SS are unlikely to stay there.

Think about where the best athletes play. SS and CF.

Well, all of these guys were the best athletes wherever they came from.

What position would Nolan Jones play? Jose has 3rd wrapped up for a while.

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t Jose’s natural position 2nd? When we had Donaldson I could have sworn there was talk of leaving Jose at 2nd since he came up there. Again I could be way off. However, he could be an option to move to second depending on who we acquire or who comes up in the system.

Correct. Jose moved to 2nd past two seasons and it is his most natural (and best) position. His bat would play up huge there.
