Seems bad

I don’t know if this was discussed previously but he surrendered 19 runs in 8 appearances for the Daddys in ‘19. Now, I don’t know what the context of those numbers are so I won’t say it’s implicit one way or the other.

Of the players we received in exchange for Bauer, Allen is the one about which I know least. So I don’t know if he’s coming off an injury, if he’s just super green etc.

@Derek @AZ_ @EdMonix11

Sorry its time for another addition of who the heck is that, but who is Jared Robinson? He is putting up a fine year in the minors and some how he escaped my notice all season lol

I know a lot of the more knowledgeable guys on this site don't care much for MLBPipeline, but they released their updated top 15 team farm system rankings. Tribe checked in at 12.

12. Cleveland Indians
Preseason Top 10 Rank:
unranked
Top 100 Prospects (3): 3B Nolan Jones (No. 40), RHP Triston McKenzie (No. 68), LHP Logan Allen (No. 98)
Prospects Points (MLB rank): 97 (21st)
The Indians are on the rise with the youngest collection of Top 30 Prospects, including 14 teenagers. None of them cracked the current Top 100, but the strength of the system is sweet-swinging middle infielders such as Tyler Freeman, Brayan Rocchio, Gabriel Rodriguez and Aaron Bracho. Indians Top 30 Prospects list »

An absolute knock to their credibility that Tyler Freeman isn't ranked at this point

Baseball America has the Indians #12 as well, but it was updated a few days before the Bauer trade. Possible they could've slid up to #10 by adding Logan Allen and the Marlins graduating Isan Diaz

Top 100 was updated mid-July

49. Nolan Jones
72. Triston McKenzie
82. Tyler Freeman
86. Logan Allen
91. George Valera

Why rank a 20 year old slashing .321/.387/.455 over 200+ minor league games when you can rank half of this years draft class who have played maybe 20-30 games ahead of him?

That’s always been MLB Pipeline’s issue. Jump the gun on newly drafted guys.

Man, the Indians have really cleaned up his mechanics in a short amount of time.

The power he generates from his lower half is insane.

I selfishly want him to come out of the pen after next years all star break. Who is the last guy to hit triple digits as an Indian? Bartolo?

Blake Wood?

Amazing that we've had mostly excellent bullpens over the last handful of years or so, yet we haven't had any of the ridiculously hard-throwing guys that have been making waves during the same time period.

Karinchak hasn't been particularly sharp since returning to Columbus.

8 walks in 3-1/3 IP. Only throwing 53% strikes. ERA near 19

Still striking guys out at an elite rate though. 24 K/9 in this tiny sample.

Was throwing 65% strikes pre-injury

Control was always one of his knocks prior to early this season. He had 36 BB in 48.2 IP across 3 levels last year.
