he is likely to attempt 7+ a game so unless he turns into Steph he is probably gonna shoot around 35-36%

Been a decade since he shot under 36% for a full season, and if anything he's become a better shooter with age. I doubt this season will prove to be the exception.

He is great, but only broke 40% 2 years. That's one more year than Sexton.

I do think he takes quick shots as a trailer. It isn't bad, he should take those shots as the first option.

I agree high 30's is more likely than 40%+ for him this year. But no one else is a lock for 40% plus either. I'd definitely take "the field" over Love in this bet, but I have a hard time seeing how any individual player on this team is likely to shoot a higher percentage from 3 than Love.

Yes very possible no one cracks 40%. I think you want the guy who is most likely to be the recipient of the most catch and shoot opportunities. I would think that is Collin or Windler.

Collin will drive if the shot isn't pretty open, while Windler may take harder shots.

Definitely don't think Collin will just have the same % as last year guaranteed, but I think he is going to play more off the ball and should have more open shots due to more offensive threats on the floor.

Love gets a lot of assisted 3's just by virtue of being a big. Last year he saw a big drop from 98-99% assisted in the LeBron years to just 91%, but that's still way more than Sexton (64%). I fully expect him to have the largest fraction of assisted 3's out of all our main guys again this year, which should make him the safest bet to shoot a good/great percentage.

Tristan is leading the squad in 3pt% at 50% with 1/2. If he takes no more, he will win this thread this season. lol

Really though Cedi at 48% is shooting unsustainably high probably, but he has been very good so far at 4.5 a game.

I'm glad Jordan is shooting more from 3. I think he can do better there.

Happy with my Love prediction. He's getting a lot of good looks and knocking them down. Increasingly confident that he'll shoot 40% or better, which should be good enough to lead this team in the long run.

Happy with my Cedi prediction *incoming 0-8 from 3 game vs wizards*

I didn't add Nance to the poll, but he is crushing it right now. It probably helps that he is getting wide wide open shots. No one respects him there yet.

It will be interesting to see Windler come on here and what he can do.

I have to say I am pretty dissapointed in the 3 ball from the team this year. Several guys are struggling including Collin. I thought they would be taking more as well.

I'd really like Collin, Porter Jr, Cedi an Love get their attempts up higher. I am having a hard time deciding whether they are generating enough looks from 3 or not. There are definitely wide open guys on the perimeter that are ignored too often.

Windler shot over 40% from deep over his 4 year collegiate career, and that shooting percentage improved every season. So not only is he a very good shooter, but he's much more experienced overall than your average rookie. I'd expect the adjustment to be less for him than for the other young guys entering the league, including Garland. I also think he'll have an easier time getting good looks because of his length, and how adept he is coming off screens.

He's got my vote.

With the way guys are shooting, Windler has a real opportunity to come in and own it. I think I am more worried about his conditioning after having sat out so long than I am at his overall readiness. He was remarkably consistent in his college career.

The way he moves and shoots seems 100% fit to the NBA game. I would not be that surprised if he is even better in the NBA.

It is premature for me to say this especially because I really only know his game from Summer league. However, the guy rarely dribbles unless he has a great path to the basket, he shoots off screens from deeper than deep, he has a very quick release, and he moves the ball when he doesn't have the shot.

His glaring issue is him being rail thin, but his rebounding numbers say even that may not be a problem.

It should really be nice to have a senior rookie.

I voted someone else, but never thought of Nance myself. I thought it would be someone who came here in a trade

Again, just to reiterate. I don't think anyone but Tristan is getting guarded less out there on the 3 point line. Maybe Delly because he can get baited into taking it at 10% 3pt% ouch. Nance is doing great, but those are wide open shots he is making.

It's certainly nice if your big men can hit contested 3's, but all they really need is to hit to keep the defense honest is those open threes.

Really worried about Sexton. Glad attempts are on the rise in general
