The Rise of Skywalker spoilers thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Man, that trailer looks awesome.

Makes me want to play that Star Wars Bounty Hunter video game again.

Twitter is blocked for me right now, but I am assuming this is the new teaser for Rise of Skywalker

First off, evil, double lightsaber Rey is obviously a dream/vision sequence, and I am guessing it's basically the cave scene from Empire.

My guess is there's gonna be a crap ton of retconning. Which is probably a terrible way to end a saga like this. Disney clearly had no plan when they started making movies.

They're really gonna make a splash with Disney+
I wonder if it will hurt Netflix that much. Since Netflix is pulling more stuff and obviously the Disney stuff, and their prices, I don't know. They have enough originals now that I don't think it will hurt that much. People will probably keep both. It might hurt more to other services like Hulu.

But cable is still alive.

I'm out on Netflix as soon as I can get that Disney+/Hulu combo

Yeah, new 2 minute trailer. First half of the trailer is simply scenes from the "first 6" movies (primarily the original trilogy)

Yeah she has a Darth Maul style light saber, but it flips up so the blades are parallel to each other- I guess this is from one of the shows, of which I am unfamiliar with. Your theory seems accurate though.

I have been mostly out on this new trilogy since the last movie came out, but I am a bit intrigued by Palpatine's role in this one.

As much as I was "meh" on the Force Awakens, it didn't really change anything for in terms of the original trilogy. Still watch them the same way.

Last Jedi is mostly the same way, although can't say Luke's journey is as satisfying knowing he becomes a weird milk drinking hermit.

I am afraid that they'll and pull some huge retcon out of episode 9 to make the new trilogy seems worth it, but end up just ruining the original trilogy. So maybe including Palpatine and Vader pays off....but I am skeptical.

edit - What happened to @gourimoko . I was looking forward to his opinion.
