Well our reign atop the AFC North lasted one whole week. What a feeling it was! This past Monday night was one of the worst showings in recent Browns memory. But the good thing is, we have a game Sunday and can move on. We’ve heard from reporters today that starting cornerbacks Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams are back practicing. Having this team at full health, one week before your bye and following that up going into the reigning Super Bowl champions stadium, is absolutely huge.
As a whole, from top to bottom. This team needs to get better in all aspects. It starts at the top with John Dorsey. He failed to address the offensive line in the offseason. We all knew that it was the biggest weakness on the team heading into camp. The coaches need to be better. The red zone has been a blackhole this season. The play calling isn’t the same. And the players need to be better. Going back to the red zone woes. Last year Baker thrived in the red zone, with 20 TDs and 0 INTs. This year? 3 TDs, 2 INTs and only completing 25% of his passes.

- Get on the same page! - Every play it seems there is always one piece off that blows up a great drive. To cut the lead from 14-3 to 14-10, Antonio Callaway couldn’t handle a pass from Baker, which lead to a San Francisco INT and from there, a TD. Greg Robinson couldn’t handle Nick Bosa. We saw Tight Ends trying to block Bosa 1 on 1. If everyone can get on page like we saw in the Baltimore game, we have a chance of winning every game. I understand there would be growing pains with a new coaching staff. But at times, it looks like we are so far of course.
- Feed OBJ - Our prized offseason acquisition has been silent the past two games. Defenses are focused on him more than other receivers. But the 13 targets in the last two games need to be the number we see this week. Look for Freddie and Baker go to Odell often and early. The Seahawks have the 26th ranked pass defense. This will be a great opportunity to get everyone on the offense, on the same page.
- Contain the run - For the last 5+ years, it seems the Browns run defense would give up 100 yards to just about anybody. This year is trending in that direction as well. The Seahawks come in with the 12th ranked rushing offense in the league. Chris Carson and Russell Wilson have combined for 500 yards on the season. With the possibility that the defense is at full strength this week, we should see a little better performance. Our pass rush has been there, but if we can get the run defense back in line. Our defense will have a great showing.
