He is a 6th man of the year candidate. He is 3rd in bench scoring and has gotten better since he got here.

Yeah he had a bad playoff run, but man that team was a mess. He also admits that he never played deep in the playoffs, and he hit a wall during them.

I don't think he is a great player or anything, but a team like that has a good starting unit, and a garbage bench with some dead money would gladly rent him for the year. If we didn't have so many young guards, I think I would want to try to keep him. He and Delly play well together.

I just don't see it: Clarkson is not great at his best thing (scoring) and I would argue that he's a classic regular season numbers guy. Teams don't practice for him at all and it would be insane to trust him to be your postseason 6th man IMO. Once team actually bother to put a gameplan on him, he'll get baited into doing what he wants to do naturally (hoist mid range jumpshots off the dribble)

I think whoever decides to trade for Clarkson won't have any better options. My guess is whatever team it is will have a bad bench or alot of defense first players. Probably limited trade assets too. Maybe they will have the flexibility to redo their bench in the summer of 2020 but want to make a cheap move to try to upgrade their bench scoring.

Clarkson is definitely a gamble to trade for but it won't take much to get him and if they get regular season Clarkson in the playoffs, it will be real good value.

Tough to judge the guy on his first playoff run. Hood was worse in the playoffs and he was a valuable contributor to Portland last year and they re-signed him. If you can get 2 seconds for Hood, you can get at least that for Clarkson.

Garland doesn't seem to be overly athletic to me so far, but does seem pretty skilled. Hoping he'll be a bright spot. Lord please let him be a bright spot!!

I'm not comparing him to Steph Curry. But that's the level of athlete he is. Neither are guys who will set the world on fire athletically especially from NBA standards. But both have the skill to make up for the lack of athleticism.

He was good tonight. Still making some mistakes, but very smooth. Loved the assists. His chemistry with Wade is cool.

A little bit discourage by his lack of speed and athleticism. Still haven't seen him beat his man off the dribble considering he played mostly against d-league talent. He's a good shooter and can learn to leverage that skill to get to the basket. Would want to see him start and have meaningful minutes this season.

Like I said, he is not nearly as quick as he was prior to the injury. I hope he gets it back.

I hope Beilien isn't stubborn. Knight has no future on this team. Delly needs to play spot minutes or play as the SG and mostly spot up.
The depth is only depth with no quality. Having a lot of players that pla ythe same position does not equal quality depth, and so there is no reason to play them, certainly not over your prized rookie who needs the ball, and certainly not on a lottery team.

Gotta make sacrfices. Benching Knight is bad because he is a vet, blah blah blah, but it is what it is. We need to set some priorities.

And it's not just about playing time. IT's also about role on the floor..more so even.
I'm not entirely convinced Garland is fighting for the guard spot currently occupied by Delly/Knight... I think it may be the other one.

Yeah, fixed. Sorry.

Yeah, there is a feeling that perhaps the Cavs let Garland rest or play less because they wanted to see what they have in Sexton since they feel like they sorta know what they have in Garland.

However, they still need to give Garland the ball way more and put him in different sets. He needs to let it fly too.

My point is that, by Christmas, Garland will be starting and Sexton will be coming off the bench. That's my guess, anyways. It does not look like this coaching staff has any desire to play Garland and Sexton together.

What would you do with Sexton? (role on the team, trade ,etc) having him come off the bench you think is going to increase or lower his value?
