Good CEOs cut bait and don't worry about sunk costs when running world class organizations. If Dorsey feels like he made a mistake, he needs to drop the hammer, or pretty soon it will be his ass after a 5-11 season.
What if Dorsey was the mistake?

Exceedingly unlikely, even with much of his 2018 draft potentially being headscratchers or even flops.

But with Haslam's itchy trigger finger, you never know..

I don't think he was a mistake, but that doesn't mean he hasn't made mistakes. He has made a number. Remember, the honeymoon is always great...

This is a Stephen A. Smith quality take

Dorsey isn't going anywhere and it hurts the organization's credibility if they play musical chairs with coaches.

You know this, the Browns have already played this game and ended up with Mike Pettine. Good GM's don't make rash decisions, especially after 6 games.

Two phrases that don’t make any sense when talking about the Browns:

Good CEO
World Class Organization

5-11 would be an utter disaster and would absolutely warrant Freddie getting fired. Especially if Baker doesn’t improve and the D continues this downward trend.

Let me introduce you to Jimmy Haslam my man....

Throw everything you think you know out the window.

I genuinely feel like some of you have already forgotten what things were like pre-Dorsey.

Even good GMs make mistakes. You’d think CLEVELAND BROWNS fans would give a good regime a larger margin for error than other fan bases based on what we’ve gone through. Alas, we have morons who want to go back to that beautiful merry go round of incompetence.

Not to mention John Dorsey is the first executive we have had who has successfully reigned in the Haslams and kept them in the corner where an owner belongs.

I’m far more frustrated by the idiotic segment of our fanbase than the team right now.

I like Dorsey. But he isn't infallible. And if he missed on Kitchens (looking like he did) then he botched his second biggest decision. And his biggest decision (Baker) is looking a lot more flimsy.

He did have a lot more shots at it thanks to Sashi, who also was far far from perfect. Certainly I think I would feel better with DeShaun Watson as our QB. But who knows how things look then. Sashi was too much of a quantity over quality, where Dorsey will take a shot. Let's just agree he had a better offseason in 2018 than 2019.

Half of it is bandwagon fans who have no suffering reference point. Aside from the 2017 draft, I dare you guys to take a look at the 1st round draft picks during the Heckert, Banner and Brown years. Half of those guys aren't even in the league anymore.

Dorsey got quality free agents WANTING to come to Cleveland. He is the best salesman we've had since the return and people are already calling for his head.

If Haslem fires Dorsey after this season, I will lose all hope in this team moving forward.

Bandwagons and extreme fair-weathers are pretty rampant right now. Just block out their noise.

Thank you. This is brutal to see in here. He got the perception of working with the Browns to be the most palatable it has been in a decade-plus. He's got multiple pro-bowl receivers to be happy here. If you ask me, it's the Sashi truthers driving this dumb-ass take, looking to rise again like the South aims to do.

Dorsey is fine...has he made a few mistakes of course what GM hasn't...but this notion of firing Freddie after 6 games? c'mon thats insanity...and its not happening. They will give him time as they should...the national media is trying to create more "Clevelandis in turmoil BS" don't buy it...even the great Belichick didnt have an auspicious start (not that I'm saying Freddie is going to become him)

Baker, Denzel, and Chubb are head scratchers? One made a Pro Bowl as a rookie, one is a top 3 running back in the NFL this season, one is a second year QB who set a rookie TD record.

I put the struggles on coaching and inability to scheme to our players' strengths. Avery should be in uniform. Callaway was a bright spot last year and has regressed this season due in large part to his suspension.

I'm frustrated like everyone else and I'm also admittedly worried - rightfully so. But give them time. Unlike the Chiefs when Mahomes stepped in as starter, this entire roster is composed of youth in key positions.
