2019 Cleveland Browns Regular Season

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Browns will now probably need to win eleven games to make the playoffs. Yikes.

Uh? Do you think the Bills are going to win 11 games? I don't. I don't think JAX, TEN, or OAJK will make it to 10 wins. We have a much easier path than all of them.

If you look at the remaining schedules it's basically impossible for 3 teams in the AFC South to make the playoffs. I could see HOU or IND winning the division and the other winning 1 Wild Card spot but there's no way they will get 3 teams. It's also less likely that 2 teams from the AFC West make it. OAK is only 1 game up on us and they have a much harder schedule remaining.

The only team that's a real threat at the moment is BUF but they don't have a QB and they're being carried by their defense.

The Bills are going to need to go .500 the rest of the way to win ten games, 6-4 to win 11. They play the Redskins, Dolphins, Steelers, Broncos, and Jets. So yeah, I think they very easily win win 10 games, and imagine they can win one against the Eagles, Browns, Cowboys, and Ravens.

The Browns are competing with the two teams from the AFC South right now. What benefits our team is that all of the AFC South teams at least have one more game against each other. This may mean the Browns can make it as the last Wild Card team with ten wins, but we are not in a good position, nowhere close to it.

Wild card? Bro you’re dreaming

today changes a lot. In no way was the Ravens winning in Seattle being accounted for on this board. It was a penciled loss

we’re 2.5 games back. We are immense long shots

Baltimore is a (stolen) well run organization with a super bowl winning coach and just has a good team culture. I am gagging while typing this out. Hey did you know that Lamar Jackson was Ozzie Newsome's last first round pick? Again...excuse me while I vomit.

And now we're forced to eat a shit sandwich because the GM wanted to take a shot on a hotshot coordinator who is very green and clearly over his head.

Now either Freddy is going to have to get his act together or we're going to be discussing whether we can lure Lincoln Riley, Urban Meyer, or Mike McCarthy to Cleveland.

You need to look at the Wild Card standings. BUF, HOU, OAK, TEN, and JAX are the only teams ahead of us. We play BUF so we can own that tie breaker. If we sweep CIN and PIT we will own the tie breaker over the other teams by having a better record in the conference.

That's...kind of a lot of teams.

If it’s a 2 team tie it’s head to head so TEN would have the tie breaker over us

it’s time to stop treating teams that have been considerably better than us as non threats. The Bills are 5-1 with their 1 loss a 6 point loss to NWE

we have yet to win a single home game, I’m not in a hurry to pencil in 4 game divisional sweeps

Exactly. Like, I don't think the Bills are any good, at all...but their schedule is a complete joke. I'd compare it to Clemson's schedule this year. It's pathetic. Buffalo is winning at least 9 games, bare minimum.

Then there's the Texans & Colts, both of which are just really good teams. As you say, they have some tough games left (especially the Texans). I think it's pretty safe to say both these teams will win at least 9 games too, especially the Colts.

Browns need to win 7 of 10 to get to 9 wins. That is very doable with our schedule.

I think our best realistic chance of getting in at this point is via tiebreaker. Either H2H with Buffalo, or conference record with the 2nd place AFC South team.

If the Browns win in New England next week, things will look much better. But that would be more surprising than Baltimore winning in Seattle today.

Of course, it's likely at least one of these teams we are discussing will get screwed with bad injury luck, Browns included. And that will change the discussion at that point.

Playoffs can still happen, but the safety net is gone.

If they are to make a run at it, I would imagine they must win at least 7 of their last 10, more realistically 8 or 9.

The Seattle and Rams games put this team in a major hole. They need to play perfect football to be in it.

I can at least excuse the Rams loss. Even overlooking the bonehead playcalling.
Same with the Seahawks.
The 49ers and Titans just seem inexcusable at this point.

Not only did you lose...but you lost badly and in rather convincing fashion. You were outcoached and put Baker, the team in consistently bad positions.

It's frustrating that we're already almost at the point of drawing up improbable "Browns make it at 6-10 in 2016/2017" type playoff scenarios.

We’ll find out if we still have a shot at the division very quickly.

In 4 of the next 5 weeks the Ravens play the Patriots, Texans, Rams, and 49ers. Only the Rams game is on the road, unfortunately.

Realistically we need them to go 2-3 over their next 5 while we take care of our own business post-New England if we want to stay in the race. Baltimore plays the Bengals in there, so we basically need them to go 1-3 against NE, HOU, LAR, and SF.

Hope is fading fast.

I am just going to concede that the Rancid Old Bay and Natty Boh shitbirds found themselves Mike Vick II so...they'll go as far as he can take them.

At worst? I have them penciled in as a wildcard team. At best? Division title winners and that gaggle of assholes doing the "YOU FORGOT ABOUT US" at the end of the season.

With us...it's whether or not our coaching staff can get out of it's own way. My negativity is not towards the talent on the field...but rather a coaching staff that clearly has no idea how to prep Mayfield for the week and giving him absolutely dreadful schemes to work with.

Yeah candidly the people claiming the browns schedule eases up and the Ravens are trash, that take took almost a death blow today

our playoff odds after today have to be less than 10%. We are a massive long shot to make the playoffs

Footballoutsiders putting us at 19.3% now, with the division at 9.4%. Ratbirds at 78.4% for the division, and 6.4% that we or Pitt [Bungles are essentially eliminated] somehow bump them and they still get in as a WC.

This.

Our win over Baltimore looks like the outlier. Outside of that game, we've gotten blown out twice, twice lost to west coast teams traveling East, and beaten a team with 2 backup QBs playing.

Right, would we be favored in more than 3 or 4 of our remaining games?
