I just get the feeling Beilein doesnt rate him as much as previous staff, just from listening to his interviews since being coach I feel he rates Windler higher
I don't recall seeing any quotes from Beilein on Cedi, but he loves Windler.

Cedi is 24 and has been a pro for seven years. I'm surprised his basic skills aren't better. I see him as the Delly of the front court - scrappy but with limited tools and skills. LeBron liked him - he invited him to train with him one summer IIRC. Maybe he'll end up as the 8th man on the Lakers or something.

Read somewhere Cedi was looking for 11M a year. Writer suggested they might reach agreement at 8M a year. If he doesn't show a lot of improvement this year, I would think the Cavs either do a sign and trade or let him walk.

If he doesnt improve in year 3, I probably let him walk. Year 2 is brutal, especially with the jump in minutes he had. Year 3 should be a better experience.

I think Lue, Drew and their staff damaged these kids beyond repair
If 1-2 years with a coaching staff ruins a yong player complete career trajectory or ability to develop, they were never much of a prospect to begin with.

Sorry, but even if you subscribe to the past two years(LeBrons final year and last season) being the worst possible scenario for a rookie/second year player, it’s still not enough to absolve the actual player themselves of their whole future career arc.

Might Cedi or Zicic be better under two years with Quinn Snyder or Brad Stevens? Maybe. Frankly we’ll never know. All we’ll know of how their careers play out from this point forward.

He was wildly inconsistent and disappointing. Not that it matters, but he doesn’t even get mentioned in some season previews. It’s make or break time for him in the CLE.

What is his future now? No contract extension, plus Mckinnie.
Really he doesn't even get mentioned in season previews.
I guess Beilein doesn't like Cedi and prefer 1 year younger prospect Windler.
Cedi will disappear with lack of minutes/roles this season and probably will leave from Cleveland soon.

Odd spot for Cedi.

Cavs mismanaged him throughout his time here. He should have been pegged as a 2 and a part time 1. Not a 4 and 3.
Cedi was supposed to be a tall, lengthy, quick and shifty shooting guard that could guard multiple positions. He now weighs 215 pounds which is too much and as a result of whatever they tried to transform him into he has lost some of his quickness and shiftiness.

Last season he played almost exclusively the 4 which is ridiculous. Now it looks like it's going to be the same under Beilein.

Funny to look back in this thread to last October.

Cedi's approval rating has nosedived.

I'm still a big Cedi fan, he's not exceptional at anything, but does everything well. A year ago, he put way too much pressure on himself to replace LBJ, but once he settled down, he had some great moments mid-season, I thought he wore-down late in the season.

This year he is set-up for his ideal role as 4th option in an offense structured around movement, he can probably spent some more time playing against other teams bench players, and hopefully no minutes at the 4. It's up to him now to shine and now that it is a contract year, it's make or break as far as I'm concerned.

You're right, and the proof is in the pudding. He isn't getting it done. Not long back you couldn't even speak anything negative about him without get thrashed but his couple of big supporters. Sure we all like him and would love for him to succeed. Even now if he can turn it around.
To me though he never really had it. He's lucky to be in the NBA, and I think he'll be out of it within no time unless he makes something happen. He'll be back in the old country teaching kids basketball and talking about what could of been.

I wouldn't go that far. I think he's definitely an NBA caliber player, but we had talk last year of AS games, triple-doubles, along with being a special defender and the 3rd guy on a contender.

I think he has all the talent needed to be a high-level role player.

Sheesh.
What a bunch of hogwash.
Could have skipped the last part which sounded like pure hatred almost.

WTF are you talking about? Can anyone have a different opinion around here? Hatred? - you're clueless pal.
