2019 NFL Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Maybe you have me on ignore but I'll explain again for the 10th time.

QBs generally don't improve from year 1 to year 2, improvement is seen after year 2.

So the only possible outlier would be Jackson and I haven't compared last year's stats to this year's but gut tells me he isn't doing anything this year special over last year. The rest have followed the trend.

But trying to evalate on 3-7 games is difficult (not sure how many darnold has actually played), Everyone will see ebb and flow within a season.

No you're not on ignore and I appreciate this.

I just see a lot of people go "WOW LAMAR JACKSON" and the vibe I get from him is he's going Dan Reeves-era Michael Vick on people.

Which again isn't bad. It's probably going to get the Ravens a division title at this point as the Browns are way underachieving. He'll get a Madden cover out of it, etc.

I just don't get the vibes of Mayfield and Darnold being "bad".

Can’t wait until Gase gets fired again. Such an unlikeable guy. Kind of reminds me of Trevor Bauer

I’m not a Gase fan either, but I don’t see what was done or said by him the last couple days to warrant this comment. I kinda agree with him and Bell, that should not have aired.

Conspiracy theory: the Jets are haunted.

Madden cover?! Oh noes!!11!!

I think the reason people are expecting so much in the 2nd year is because Wilson, Brady and Toothlessberger won their 2nd year, even though Pig Pen was flat-out bad/lucky/carried by his team in the Super Bowl and much of that season, and RW was helped, albeit not carried, by Lynch/LOB. Brady is, well, the GOAT and on another level, and was arguably carried by Law/Vrabel/Seau and of course Belicheat that year.

Also, Baker, and for that matter RW, were 23 on their rookie opening days, with Pig Pen being 22, so you can't use the "he's still young" excuse as you can with former 21-year-old rookies like Buzz McCallister Darnold or for that matter Lamar.

Being completely real?
It's infuriating to see Jackson succeed with Baltimore when..at times he doesn't feel like all that complete of a QB. I mean the guy is just...dangerous as a football player but I remember him looking absolutely pedestrian against our first game with them and the playoffs against San Diego (to the point where he was booed by their fans)

Flipside? To see Mayfield to have struggled to have some "w"'s to his name in recent weeks has been equally as frustrating. We know the guy can do it. He did it last season, He's got one of the better rb's in the league in Chubb to take the pressure off of him and they even got him a new weapon in OBJ to toss the rock to.

The move caught some close to the situation by surprise, sources told ESPN, and possibly even Gordon himself. He responded to an Instagram post on the news with the word "interesting."

While Gordon's season with the Patriots is over, there is a possibility he could play for another team.

The Patriots used the "minor" injured reserve designation with him, signifying a more minor injury, which means the team has to release him upon his return to health.

If this happens after Tuesday's trade deadline, Gordon then would be subject to waivers, any team could put in a claim for him, and he could be on a roster at that time.

Gordon, according to a source, believes he isn't too far away from a return to health.

Go git 'im Ph...erm....Buddy Boy?! :beguiled:

Although in seriousness, this is probably like when we thought we found the "Aaron Rodgers loophole" 2 years ago, where we supposedly would've been able to claim him off of waivers when he went on IR, but there was an exception, which is regularly granted in these cases.

In light of all of the "clock runoff" coverage the past few days, it is hard to believe that Belicheat would not be aware of such an exception in Gordon's case.

Who was the genius who thought putting Washington on Thursday Night was a good idea.

Everyone knew they'd suck, and the franchise is reviled across the land.
