The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I mean, just me?

Jesus.

don’t you guys have phones?

I never could get into Diablo.

Played the first world in the Outer Worlds. Excellent game, wish I had more free time to put into it.

ARPGs definitely are an acquired taste. Took me a long time to get into them.

And yea, Sadly I’m the same way. Really it, haven’t had a spare minute to pick it up since that first sitting. Between work and school and other obligations, there just isn’t enough time in the day. I’ll always try to find time to game, though. It’s a hobby I really enjoy, is pretty cheap ultimately, easy to do in the comfort of your home.

Death stranding does look boring. Idk if Im getting it

I’m getting Death Stranding. Will post my thoughts Friday or Saturday.

Seems to be one of those “atmospheric” kinda games with a heavy emphasis on story as opposed to gameplay, which is why some people seem to be turned off to it.

For a handful of games Kojima hasn't really found a way to tie the Story into the game play imo. It's always play, then long ass fucking convoluted cut scene.

I just imagine the worst parts of mgs5 (walking around slowly w no action) without seeing any of the battle etc that you did in that game.

We’ll see. I genuinely have no idea what to expect. What I can say is that the production quality looks absolutely phenomenal. Kojima has the track record, even if some of his games feel more like one long cut scene simulator than anything.

I really expected to like the game, but The Outer Worlds just isn't really doing it for me. I keep playing hoping it will hook me but hasn't really happened yet

I find myself comparing it to Fallout 4, which had some really great and memorable side quests that I really enjoyed completing. All the side quests in TOW just come across as short, straightforward, and not memorable.

I'm tired of killing the same 4 beasts over and over again, who all seem to have the same "level", if that makes sense. In Fallout, Super Mutants and other enemies "ranked up" along the way as you ranked up. I may be wrong, but that doesn't seem to be the case in TOW.

The colors/graphics are a bit too Borderlands-y for me. Monarch's graphics/colors in particular really annoy me

Finished The Outer World's and immediately started another playthrough. Such a good game.

Really enjoying the outer worlds. Hopefully I can beat it this weekend since I'm getting the new pokemon next week. Don't wanna have a backlog of games. Still haven't finished greedfall (Although it was a fun game it started dragging along after a bit which is why I never beat it), also have Fire Emblem Three Houses and MUA3 left unbeaten. Too many games not enough time.

So my copy of Death Stranding arrived a day early. Not sure if it’s a mistake or not, but I’m not complaining.

That happens from time to time depending on who you order from and who they are using as shipping

Very early impressions of Death Stranding:

- Gameplay itself is... unique. It's good, though.
- Story is fucking bonkers, but I want to know more.
- In true Kojima fashion, it's heavy on the cutscenes.
- Lots of familiar faces in the cast.

Looking forward to diving deeper into the game.

I'm loving Outer Worlds. Also really pumped that the game is only about thirty hours long, because I want to replay it with a low intelligence character to see the funny dialogue. Also want to do a melee build in my replay since I put almost no points into melee in my first playthrough and there are some fun-looking options.
