The 2020 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

How do you guess rate Scott and Moss? Starter or reliever?

my guess is in 2020 for big league club they would only be Relievers but in the minors kept as starters. Allen will be a starter next season since he has a fair amount of AAA innings as one and was a top 100 prospect as one so best to keep him that way (aka I am looking at lefty arms that could contribute)

Everything I have seen or heard has Scott being developed as a starter. Can't speak much to Moss since he's been in the org less than a year.

I figured both guys will stay being developed as a starter and probably make some relief appearances in random times in the pros if they make it there in 2020, I am just curious where they project long term since it feels like scouting reports say bullpen arms for both of them

I don't focus much on those projections (rotation vs bullpen) as an unknown part of the equation is the rest of the team & its makeup/ abilities.

A team full of high-end bullpen options could leave a player in the minors longer to develop as a starter since more of a need exists there.
A team with a stacked rotation and already having rotation depth could move a player out to the bullpen earlier as more of a need exists there.

IMHO - both continue as rotation guys until the Tribe feels there is more of a need in the bullpen...

As for a lefty to contribute in the bullpen - I really like the option of Kyle Nelson..

I am looking at the fact Olson is out of options and hasn’t been super effective and we really have no depth on the left side pitching wise at all as well. I know they will bring in minor league invite left handers but I wonder if injuries happen if a guy like Moss would end up out of the pen at all cause of it since he needs to be protected via Rule 5 eligible so he will be on the 40 man roster

Pretty sure Olson- along with Salazar, Cody Anderson, and A.J. Cole- were let go earlier this week

on 11/4 via the official website they were outrighted to AAA from what I can tell. I just didn’t see it posted anywhere news wise. I am pretty sure we will try to bring back Olson, Anderson and Cole all on minor league invites if possible. We have 38 on the current 40 man and likely going to cut a few more to add Moss, Johnson, McKenzie etc

I think all 4 of them refused their assignments and are now free agents

Yes, that is the case. They are all free agents. That said, one or all could re-sign with Cleveland on a major or minor league deal if there is interest by both sides.

I didn't see the info posted on here but it is relevant for depth and other decisions. A couple of players listed below I would be very interested in bringing back (Lavarnway/ Paulson/ Kaminsky)..

This info was all from the Indians Prospective twitter account on Friday..

I don’t get MLB.com and some other writers since projecting the White Soxs to win the Central next season? Wtf lol Also staying once again we should trade Lindor. Do they take in account we have the team that won 93 games back and in the second half was on of the better offenses in the league? I don’t get these writers sometimes

I’m not sure the national narrative regarding the Indians is as positive as the narrative here on rcf Carnegie & Ontario

The Sox have some nice young pieces and haven't been shy about spending money in the past. I personally think a spending spree will backfire on them, but I can see why they might be projected to make a jump this season.

I get they will make a jump, but Twins plan on spending a fair amount of money for a front end starter and closer while the Indians are coming back with a pretty good roster even if they don’t spend money. White Soxs should improve but I don’t see how they will be better than both the Twins and Indians at the end of the day. It just annoying how places treat the Indians at times. We need way better local and national writers.
