I tried some of the Apple TV+ shows. None of them were marketed properly. I think each one other than See was completely different than what the trailer/ads made them out to be.
I watch the first episode of the morning show. The cast made me think it was going to be this light hearted show that was a mix of a comedy and drama like Newsroom. The show actually was a extremely dramatic and maybe overly dramatic most of the time. I had no desire to watch the next episode.
For All Mankind seemed to be exactly what the trailers out it out to be in the first episode. I thought it was going to be Man in the High Castle without the sci-fi element. It take a twist in the second episode and beyond to something completely different. The show's writers uses the twist of the Russian's landing on the moon to make a show that focus on female Astronauts set in that golden age of NASA.
The show I like the most so far is Dickinson. I actually didn't even think I would watch this, then some tv show podcasts started talking about it. I thought it was going to be a show about Emily Dickinson in a serious manner. This show actually is more like Another Period on Comedy Central. It's not as over the top but very much a comedy. They don't speak like they are in the 1850's. The themes are very modern just set in 1850. It also has a great sound track of popular music of right now. I've watched 7 episodes so far.
I didn't finish the first episode of See so I won't comment on it until I get around to finishing it.
I have a free year of Apple TV+ because I bought a new computer recently. Honestly, none of the shows really looked like they would appeal to me at all.

If you liked the golden compass then you are in for a treat because that film was such a bad representation of the source material. The show is basically a true adaptation apart from one extra character and a lot more diversity. It's going to be incredibleHis dark materials premiered last night on hbo. Interested to watch this show since I was a big fan of the golden compass. Seems like it’s hand and hand with the movie at this point. Haven’t seen it in forever but everything looked very familiar. Curious to see how this show turns out because the first episode wasn’t anything special, but since the idea of the show is so complex, it seems like it will have to be set up first. Anyone else watching this? Thoughts? I know this story gets pretty dark, so I’m really anxious to see what direction they take with the show
I watched the first episode of See tonight and forced myself to watch another. The second one put me to sleep and unless I hear that it picks up steam I can’t see myself watching any more. I really just couldn’t get past the premise of everyone being blind. It bugged me through the hour and a half that I watched.
Maybe someone else can tell me it gets better so I give it another try?
I don't know if Disney Plus deserves it's own thread, but I just pre-ordered it. Pretty excited for The Mandalorian.
Rick and Morty is back.. was an alright episode, had some funny spots
Just finished the fourth and final season of The Man in the High Castle, and wish I'd skipped it. Way too woke for me.
