Discipline got brought up in the Garrett thread but I'd like to look at it here.

-Most flags in the league
-OBJ has been "embraced" to the point that he's getting uniform infractions every fucking week. The pants one was bullshit from the league. The watch and the shoes were bullshit from OBJ.
-Myles' specific lack of discipline. Late hits, taking a swing in the opener, and then Thursday's debacle.
-Greg Robinson's ejection.
-Team's lack of discipline when it comes to the details of running plays, running routes, etc.

It's a massive indication of Freddie's coaching to this point: poor.

Forget gameplanning, playcalling, clock management, etc. This is by far his biggest flaw, imo.
Yeah he may end up being someone that should just be calling plays and not running an entire team. They need to make a firm quick decision in 6 weeks about him. Can’t waste another year if he is not the right guy.

I believe we are going to go 8-0 in the division and miss the playoffs. Hell, even if we lose to Baltimore and go 7-1 in the division, I can hear John Dorsey stating that fact as being a huge accomplishment in his end of the year presser.

If we don’t go 7-1 or 8-0, Kitchens is gone. I don’t think Dorsey was too high on him and wanted to conduct his own search and fulfill HIS vision. Haslem gonna Haslem.

lol at Haslam being portrayed as some kind of puppet master for the head coaching search. Likeliest scenario is that a guy (Dorsey) who was never previously responsible for running a HC search simply made the wrong choice. Seems pretty simple and self explanatory to me.

Especially in a year where the 2 "big" available names were Bruce Arians, who had legit longevity concerns, and Mike Mcarthey, who no one hired. Left with a bunch of coordinators without HC experience, he took the one his star QB already liked. Make sense, just sucks it's turned out like this so far.

So, you don’t think Haslem saw the small sample size of success with Baker and Kitchens? Saw all the extra revenue from Baker jersey sales, season tix, everything else and said, keep this pair together. Just looking at the handful of guys they brought it in, it kinda makes sense to me.

8-0 in division would be really impressive considering they only play 6 games
Also considering we already have 2 non divisional wins if we were to go 8-0 in the division it would mean we had 10 wins which would be a lock for the playoffs in this weakened AFC. So the post makes no sense for several reasons

Were the jersey sales and season tickets going somewhere without Freddie Kitchens?

Nah...

It's short-sighted to say Kitchens was Dorsey's guy and it's short-sighted to say he was Haslam's. I think it was pretty mutual.

In retrospect, I thought it was the right choice because it appears that we had something that was working. This proverbial "something" had eluded us for years so why rock the boat? However, if Haslam flat out did not want Kitchens, he wouldn't have been named the coach. Haslam has his dusty ole fingerprints all over this franchise.

Still get depressed thinking about how we chose Kitchens over Stefanski.

One guy is underachieving and regressing with a player who broke the rookie passing TD record.

One guy has Kirk Cousins as the 6th best odds to win NFL MVP.

We chose the first one. Good times.

I don’t think this is fair

Stefankski isn’t the head coach of the Vikings he’s the OC. A role that Kitchens absolutely murdered last year which is most of the reason he got the job.

It’s yet to be seen if Stefanski would have a similar difficulty adapting to being a HC

Pretty sure stefanski also has Kubiak as a advisor so it's not just him doing the game planning. Also having a head coach like Zimmer who really wants to run the ball helps balance out all the passing.
