The thing is the Bucks dont have to beat Toronto+Kawhi this year.

And imo they matchup extremely well with Philly. Theyve got two above average low post defenders in the Lopez brothers who can wear Embiid down.

Now, Horford was a pretty good move because hes shown he has been able to effectively guard Giannis for stretches. But if you can keep Embiid from averaging 30+, its hard to see where Philly gets enough consistent scoring from to win over 7 games.
This above all else makes me wish the Cavs would hand TT to the Bucks (he can shit on Horford, makes the Bucks a dominant sized team vs Lakers, adds another 3 pt shooter). My only worry is Rich Paul activating the chip in TTs head come Finals time and sabotaging the Bucks.

Sorry what?

I watched the Wizards vs Clippers last night.

This is CBA basketball at the NBA level. It’s an embarrassing product... It literally happened over a 2-3 year period...

1980’s scores in 2019 is not appealing at all...

It's not easy to unload a bloated contract without giving up the precious few assets a contender has to improve. If you saw that Bledsoe was slipping, so did the other 29 GMs.

I think it was about durability. Brogdan has missed significant time due to injury. It made them nervous to depend on him I think.

and 65 are his games played in his first 3 years. Not great.

His playoff averages are

13/3.4/4.9 pts/ast/reb

It's ok, but the advanced numbers aren't good in the playoffs at all. His great % on 2's 3's and ft's went down to roleplayer level.

Bledsoe in the playoffs

13.7/4.3/3.7

They may have looked at the numbers and decided it was a wash. I think if you look at the numbers and say do we want Bledsoe for 17M or Brogdan whose numbers really aren't that different in the playoffs at 21.25M, you could convince yourself. That is just looking at the statsheet though.

Since this season started it is a lot harder to reconcile.

The big issue to me is the 3pt shooting. Bledsoe just isn't good there, and Brogdan is, even if he shot 36% in the playoffs. Probably worth the 4M per year for a guy that plays so many minutes.

Watching Hawks Warriors. These teams are worse than the CAVS. They are not well coached.

I take your point. But Brogdon is a more versatile and better overall defender and by last year was a more efficient scorer. Anyway, we'll see if Bledsoe's crap performance in the playoffs last year was a fluke or not.

Apparently the ratings on the Cavs's RSN (Fox Sports Ohio) are down 35% vs last year. It's not apparent that the numbers are same-time period to date, since the tweet mentions that they could change by April. Would be stupid if they're comparing YTD vs. the whole previous year.

Yeah totally. I guess it wasn't just Brogdan vs Bledsoe though. They got a 1st and 2 2nds for Brogdan, but might have had to give up a pick for someone to take on Bledsoe.

THey also had to make a decision on Bledsoe a year before. If they let Bledsoe walk and Brogdon doesn't develop, then they get killed for that, too. WAy it goes, sometimes.

Markelle Fultz is starting to show some signs of life.

Not like, "WOW, he's gonna be a star."

But also more than "one of the 5 biggest busts of all time."

Prior to this season I didn't take the Harden free throw stuff too seriously. Yeah he shot a lot of free throws, but Wade and Jordan had seasons with even higher free throw rates, and several other elite guards/wings were not far off. This season is another story...he's shooting free throws at the highest rate in NBA history, an even higher rate than prime Shaq in the hack-a-Shaq years. That's nonsensical. At some point the league has to step in.

That's never going to happen. The league wants him to shoot a thousand free throws.

Do they, though? I feel like the league's other big stars are more marketable than Harden. Don't see what they have to gain hitching their cart to him. It'll just get more embarrassing as he ages and depends more and more on free throws to stay relevant.
