...and have an unlimited budget for games. Any recommendations? I haven't owned a Nintendo since the N64 but I assume the Mario and Zelda offerings are still strong?

I've also got an almost 3 year old, anyone got any good kids games I should check out? There are a lot of articles online about what the "best" Switch games are, but very little about games for small children. He does like the Paw Patrol game. But that's the only one I've checked out for him so far.

Luigis mansion 3 is an automatic, pretty sure it’s still on sale places too. Smash bro’s is about as money as you can get too if you’re down with that.

Yes to Mario and Zelda as well as Pokemon Sword or Shield version.

no idea what to go for the kid though.

Just telling you, don't be shocked if your almost 3 year old drops it enough times that the speakers quit working. I've gotta send mine back for repair because of it.

Thanks! I figured the Core Nintendo games would be solid. Was wondering about any others that weren't obvious that people enjoyed. I loved Donkey Kong 64 so I might pick up the Donkey Kong game.

What about party style games? Outside of Mario Party. This thing will mostly be used for game nights with friends and for my kid.

I don't have any recommendations as my kids tend to use it more for youtube or a coloring app than any games, but I'd recommend going to your local library. Might as well let your kid try out games for free before you spend money on a game they don't like.

My nephew loves mario galaxy and rocket league for the switch and hes around 6. I've had fun playing pokemon, fire emblem 3 houses, civ 6, stardew valley and diablo 3. Theres a ton of good indy games out there too.

I've been considering buying one, mainly because I want to play that new Marvel Ultimate Alliance which was a switch exclusive. But I was never much of a Nintendo guy growing up and the Switch never goes on sale.

That's the whole reason I talked my wife into buying one for the "kids"

I need to get around to buying the DLC for it, but lazy.

How is the game? Seems like it follows a similar story to the MCU, right?

Yes and no. It's more comic related than MCU.

It's not awful, but it's a hell of a grind fest. Your AI partners are pretty much garbage, and I hate the linking skills.

Switch is great. I love it. You can’t go wrong with the core Nintendo games. Super Mario Odyssey, Zelda, Luigi Mansion.

I love Super Smash bros. It’s a must. Your son and friends can play that against each other. The Mario Kart is good too. Mario Party is meh. Only has like 4 maps and they haven’t really supported it. I hear Mario Tennis Aces is good now with the added support.

Luigis Mansion
Pokemon Shield or Sword
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
Super Mario (drawing a blank here)
Mario Party is always fun
Links Awakening is fantastic
Lego Harry Potter is fun too

I play my switch more than my ps4 and its not even close.

Super Mario Odyssey.

I bought my 8 year old a Switch for his birthday, the whole family plays Mario Kart, even the four year old. I'm still figuring out which other games are good for more than just the 8 and older crowd, but I suggest getting the special plug in for your smart TV and extra controllers.
