Fantasy Football 2019

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Missing the playoffs in every league. First time x4. Because guys like Kamara fucking suck. And everyone that is supposed to be good is shit. And fell apart in the last month.

Winning records but missing the playoffs. By about 5 points in one, and about 7 in the other on ties.

I'm done.

Retired.

You need to take this shit less personally. Fantasy is random. Sometimes you get fucked by that randomness. It happens.

I've come to hate Sundays.

Because of Fantasy and the Browns.

But I need to keep track of the Browns.

So that leaves Fantasy out.

If this season has taught me anything it's that I'd rather keep track of my fantasy teams than the Browns.

Well yes, but I have no choice anymore so...

I need 17.2 points from Saquon Barkley tonight. 1/2 PPR, 1 pt per first down.

That's his average. Hopefully Eli has a nostalgic check-down day.

Because my league only has 10 people, the top 4 make it to the playoffs and there are no BYEs. tonight is the last regular season day. I'm at 7-6 currently in the 4th spot with the 5th spot having the same record, but I'm up big in point differential. My team shit the bed yesterday but I have Wentz, Ertz and the Philly defense left to play while the guy I'm playing has no one left.

I'm at 65.40 and he's at 107.30. 1 PPR league.
The other 7-6 down 85.38 to 103. He has Miles Sanders to play and the guy he's playing is done for the week.

I CAN lose and still make the playoffs but Miles Sanders would need to have a shit game.

I'm also 8 points off the point lead so I should be able to get that. Best case, point lead ($75) and I make the playoffs where anything goes. Worst case, I don't score 8 points with 3 players, Sanders gets 17.65 points and my next few weekends are Browns specific.

Edit: Fuck Philly.
Edit Edit: I take that back. Fuck the Philly defense.

I spoke too soon.

Two teams rallied.

Made the playoffs in 2/4 leagues.

Still, I expect to lose horribly. Still might retire.

Through a miracle quarterfinal, I am alive in the semis. QB is my huge red flag, and these are my best available options. Others like Fitzpatrick (@ NYG), Carr (vs. JAX), and Brissett (@ NO) are available, though I'm not sure how to quantify them in matchups:

Mayfield @ Arizona
Brady @ Cincinnati
Rivers vs. Minnesota
J. Allen @ Pittsburgh
Trubisky @ Green Bay

Obviously, TDs are king, but especially in this league a they're +6 for QBs. Mayfield and Brady have the best match-ups, but have been so wildly inconsistent. Any and all opinions are welcome.

Of those options I think your probably right with Baker and Brady are right there with each other, just depends on how you think the game script is going to go for the ARI-CLE game aka will it be a close game where they are throwing throughout the game and the ceiling is high or a grind it out game where Chubb and Hunt eat the clock and the margin for error depends on if the Browns score passing TD's early. Brady and the Pats are less likely to let up when they are ahead based on past history but overall Brady's ceiling this year hasn't been that high because Edelman and J. White aside the guys catching the ball haven't been very reliable game to game. Rivers would be my darkhorse out of the rest of that group just because of the number of weapons he has and the fact that MIN secondary has been pretty bad lately, Rivers has just been pretty up and down all season so hard to really know what you are going to get. I know not a ton of help :chuckle:

I'm in a similar scenario feel pretty secure at my other positions but i'll be streaming a QB unless Stafford makes a miraculous recovery the next 2 weeks, not sure if he's available since you didn't mention him in the group was out there so I'm assuming not but IF Tannehill is available he's the guy I'm rolling with in my main league. Gives me anxiety to do but the guy has had multiple TDs in every game he has started and rarely has been turning it over and then to go along with that faces HOU this week which just got torn up by Drew Lock and DEN and then NO in WK 16 which has a D that's been fading lately.

Appreciate the candor, and I wish I had Tannehill available! He was taken after his first start by someone with some great foresight. I'd roll with him confidently all the way to the end. A Houston shootout is a real possibility.

I've been talking myself into any of the three between Mayfield, Brady, and Rivers, depending on the hour of the day. Brady should go out and stomp a horribly inferior opponent, despite his lack of receivers, because of how bad Cincinnati is. Baker should be able to whip the ball all around against the worst pass defense in the league. But he just struggled mightely against a terrible Cincinnati secondary at home. Just no consistency. And as you said, Rivers and the Chargers are one of the most competitive losing teams out there.

Yeah like I said going through a similar situation so kinda talking out loud, not that it would probably sway the decision one way or another but would any of those guys stack (QB-WR) with guys you already have that you plan on starting or similarly any guys that you could "neutralize" by starting their QB so the TD they throw to your opponents WR cancel out essentially. I don't often want to make that the sole reason to start one QB over another but using it as a tie breaker if applicable can hopefully help separate.

That is an interesting thought, though in looking at his roster, none of my potential QBs have any overlap to neutralize his roster. I have Edelman, so there is some potential synergy for me there. That might be a worthy consideration. I'll need to boom rather than play it "safe" to win, as his roster is Brees/Godwin/Adams/Cooper/Jones/Cook/Waller, and with Evans out, Godwin is going to likely be a monster.

It's week 1 of our playoffs and holy crap am I second guessing myself. I got super lucky that the guy I'm playing lost Evans for the season, but he also has Carson who is apparently going to have one of the best fantasy games of the season. But I guess all I can really worry about is my own team since they've been pretty poor the last few weeks after some really strong games. I'm pretty set on Godwin, Adams, CMC, Ertz, Gould and the San Fransisco defense.

Right now, I'm having back and forth thoughts about Jimmy G vs Dak. Dak is generally a safe bet and ends up getting some random fantasy numbers at the end of the game when it doesn't matter. Jimmy is playing Atlanta but has had a lot more sub 14 point games... I'm leaning towards Jimmy even though Atlanta always ends up being a trap game and they've improved their defense as of late.

My RB2 and Flex are really my biggest concerns. Mostert vs Atlanta could be great but they could randomly give Coleman like 15 carries since he did nothing last game. Hunt has been Mr. reliable for double digits and probably catches the most passes out of the RB2s, plus we're playing the Cardinals. Mack is the best pure RB of the 3 but has a really tough matchup and doesn't really have too many dimensions to his game. Could be a good punch in option though and sneak through a couple of TDs. I think Mostert has the highest ceiling for Sunday, but also the lowest floor.

The flex role is the toughest choice though. I tend to go with a WR for that position. Sutton did screw me over and has a tough matchup at Kansas City. But his trend for the last 2 months has been bad game, good game, bad game, good game, ect. Slayton is a darkhorse. Manning went to him all 1st half and they're playing Miami. But he was non existent the second half and with poor coverage all around, Tate and Shepherd could get equal touches. He might be my choice if Tate sits on Sunday. AJ Brown and Zach Pascal are also sitting on the wire. Man, I hate fantasy football. How do you guys do this every year? Anyone want to make decisions for me so I don't hate myself if I lose? Haha.

I'd probably lean 60/40 to Prescott over Garoppolo, based on how I'd see the game going. If the 49ers handle the Falcons like they should, there's going to be a whole lot of running going on, and Jimmy shouldn't have a ton of second half opportunities. Dak is in a must-win against a better opponent, so more throwing likely go come down the line, plus the Ram's front 7 are no joke, and it should make them lean off Zeke a little. But of course, that's all a guess!

For the same reason, I'd keep Mostert in there, though I agree it's dumb luck who receives the carries any given week. Mostert seems to get about 60% of them, and if the game goes as I suspect, there should be plenty of opportunities. I'd also keep Hunt in there. As you said, he's been solid, and with a horrible secondary, Arizona is ripe for Hunt to work underneath in the passing game. Those two seem much more solid to me, albeit lower ceilings, than Slayton or Sutton, who could bust completely as well.
