Kluber Traded to Rangers

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I thought the Tribe got lucky finding a team with two reasonably priced stud starting pitchers - Minor and Lynn - who were willing to pay Kluber like an ace to be their third starter. And not only take that price tag on, but also give up a quality young player to absorb that salary. Texas must have believed they were in the running for a free agent starting pitcher only to get priced out. They are also one of the few teams in MLB who have a wealth of young pitching talent that might be lost in a rule 5 draft.

The trade feels very underwhelming, but the Indians pitching staff may very well turn this young reliever into the next big thing out of the bullpen.

Kluber felt very expendable, but I want to see those resources reinvested somewhere. It feels awful if they don't get used.

In position or quoted as saying they will do so?

That was my question as well from reading that tweet. As much as I would like them to be players in the Ozuna market based on his extremely impressive xWOBA and xSLG numbers in recent years, I’d be more than glad if they can use their funds to sign Cesar Hernandez, Corey Dickerson and extend Bieber and Clevinger.

Yeah I used to consider @Triplethreat a good friend

And I used to consider the Indians front office competent

A lot changed on this trip
If you ever get to Northern Virginia, let me know, and we'll go to Aslin. It's become a hangout spot for me since you told me to try it. Aslin Trite has always been a favorite IPA, but I underestimated how good some of their stouts and sours are.

I'm ok with the deal. I like the young arm. I don't care for DeShields, but he's better than some of the options we have in the outfield. Which is depressing enough to think about, but whatever. Kluber is done as an elite pitcher. I wanted to trade him last offseason. This is about what he's worth now.

Curious as to who you feel he is better than

I'm there for 4 days next September. You buying?

Plan on stopping on my way down to Richmond from Cleveland after Christmas. Should be the 27th or 28th, but I’ll shoot you a PM closer to then!

Let me know! I may be helping move my grandma into a nursing home in Florida, but that’s up in the air! I’d love to meet you in person!

I don’t think I’m as popular on RCF as I once thought

None of my RCF friends wanted to meet with me after I flew specifically to hang out with them

I even sent @Soda my phone number and he left me on read

Really? No one hung out with you?

Or is this a joke?
