2019 College Football

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I went to bed early. The 4th quarter started at 11:30. Fuck that.

I also think that OSU could have beaten LSU. Man, I went into this season with tempered enthusiasm then it blossomed when I saw how the defense played. So sickened by how the game was taken away from them in the semifinals.

On to next year.

LSU, who shouldn't have been #1, got a pseudo-bye against a bad #4 seed then a home game versus a team that we beat up.

So we get hear SEC! all off season.

Great!
It’s better than having to hear about an illegitimate Clemson and Dabo & Sunshine all damn year

It's ammo for "Well the SEC is so good it should get 2 teams every year". Plus we know Clemson will make it and the committee always loves Oklahoma, regardless of how much they lose by.

Man, Clemson is really capitalizing off Miami having absolutely no idea what it’s doing and FSU being under 6 feet of cow shit since Fisher left.

Like, if just one of the two could control a little recruiting on the south coastal region things might be a little different in that conference instead of Dabo’s Congregation having 13 byes.

Not legit upset about the schedule or anything but talk about the stars aligning for two previous national powers just being awful at the same time. Not sure Miami and national power have belonged in the same sentence since 2002 but shrug

I mean did you want them to move the game last night to a neutral location? LSU played Texas (who dominated Utah), Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma and Clemson. They took care of business and went undefeated. That’s a hell of a schedule they played.

Clemson had won 29 in a row. That’s no easy feat. OSU didn’t get it done in the red zone when they had the chances.

It's a shame that LSU got an easier road, but mostly because we didn't get to win the title. But hey, at least Clemson loss and it wasn't so close as to feel like a guarantee that we were robbed of a championship.

Get em next year! Fuck Clemson!

Texas was barely a bowl team, Bama was never the same after Tua got hurt the first time, the SEC East was a shitshow (Georgia lost to a 4 win team at home). Let Clemson play Oklahoma then the LSU-OSU winner in South Carolina or let OSU play Oklahoma and then play the LSU-Clemson winner at FES, you think either of those teams don't win?

Clemson and the SEC get the benefit every time. And before you play the "well they earned it" so does Oklahoma, somehow. And we get short end.

Texas was barely a bowl team that beat Utah, who if they won, would’ve been the 4 seed. LSU went into Bama and beat them with Tua. It’s football, guys get hurt.

LSU beat the #2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 14, and 25 ranked teams in the final AP poll this season. Give credit where it’s due. They were best team in the country and won when it mattered. Not sure how Clemson got benefit of the doubt in this?

No, they're not victims. I'm sorry...

LSU deserves the cred, they beat everyone in front of them. They're the best offense in the history of college football, and they earned every bit of it.

Nobody was giving OSU anything but immense praise, but they lost in excruciating fashion. Don't denigrate LSU out of insecurity for the shitty things that happened to OSU. It's bad form IMO.

Both teams were absolutely worth that #1 spot.

Texas was barely a bowl team that beat Utah
Which didn't happen when LSU got the #1 seed.

In the regular season, just about every objective metric had OSU ahead of LSU. Many had OSU with a tougher schedule. And OSU's MOV was way higher versus good teams. Hell, ESPN's FPI still has OSU over LSU, even after they beat Clemson.

There isn't a good argument as to why LSU got the #1 other than SEC.

Utah (who was #5 at the time) lost to Oregon, therefore they did not get the #4 seed. Georgia was #4 going into conf. championship week.

There were metrics that had Alabama higher than LSU even after they beat them. FPI, MOV, DUI, it doesn’t matter. OSU didn’t get it done against Clemson. Plain and simple.

The 1 seed was always a huge deal this season. And it’s moronic that OSU was 1, beat a top 10 team by double digits, and then dropped to 2. All because LSU beat another top 10 team by more points? (Margin of victory is NOT supposed to be incentivized). It makes no sense at all.

If OSU was the best team after week 12, they were after week 13 as well.

There’s really no defending it. ESPNs committee is overwhelmed by recency bias, and flat out ignores defined selection criteria, at the very least.

What I am saying is when LSU got the #1 seed, Texas hadn't beaten Utah. Texas was a 7-5 team. Beating Texas wasn't a resume booster.

Why don't those matter? How are these teams being seeded? I would hope the committee is using empirical evidence.
