2019-20 Cavaliers Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Just wondering how many games people thought the Cavs would win this year? I guessed 18-22 in the poll that was posted somewhere on this site. I still think that's a solid guess. Would really like to see them pick up a low first (say 24-30) for the 2020 draft and another protected into the future by the deadline, but I'm not expecting many wins in the last 37 games.

Does the writer know we no longer have clarkson

This wasn't a rumor. Just baseless speculation from a blogger.

Honestly its a trade that would have made sense though lol.

Lavine is making a ton of money and its not leading to wins and Clarkson was an expiring.

I thought 25-30..but as usual, that might decline.

So I'm very tired of watching the opposing teams shooting guard just bully ours every night. Doesn't matter who. Lavine. Beal. Dillon Brooks.

Start Sexton at point for all I care. You have to get bigger in the starting lineup. Garland or Sexton have to lead the bench unit. Please. FOr the love of god.
Yeah, we get killed by shooting guards all the time. To be fair, Beal scored 38 against Miami the night before. TT called him the best 2-guard in the East. But it was discouraging to see how easily Beal was able to score 36 points on only 22 shots while also dishing out 8 assists.

By the way, Sexton scored 29 on only 15 shots with 4 assists and only 2 turnovers. His offensive game is really coming along nicely. After he scored 24 in the first half the Wizards started doubling him almost every time he got the ball in the second half, forcing him to pass. That's the first time I've seen a team do that. Quite a compliment.

I thought 25-30, too, but the Clarkson trade really hurt them along with the Porter injury and now they may make another deal. Other than that one game Exum isn't close to Clarkson. Nance also missed some time with a sore knee.

Windler might have helped too. Did not expect much this season.
sexton is improving. Porter looks like a find unless he turns out to be injury prone

honestly i expected more out of the entire coaching staff though

So I have to give the coaching staff till after the deadline before getting pissed.

I very much want to see changes to the starting lineup just to try something new.

But I'm also not an idiot and know the Cavs want to trade at least Love and Thompson so they probably aren't gonna bench them before the deadline.

But Id love to see Henson or Nance or both get some starts. So, we'll see what the lineups look like after the deadline when the team isn't trying to showcase some players to deal them.

Glad to say I missed the loss to the Wizards yesterday. Just another "outlier" game anyhow huh?

What do you mean "outlier" game? The team stinks...

Just saw a stat that the Cavs give up the most transition opportunities AND the most points per transition opportunity in the league.

This would be like the 100th year in a row the Cavs have sucked at transition D, and that includes the LeBron stretch.

Theory: Tristan Thompson crashing on every single offensive possession is actually, in the long run, not good basketball, at least not anymore, and teams game plan around it to take advantage of him doing so, thus making him less valuable that he actually appears on paper to be.

And I'm not looking to scapegoat Tristan, but considering the different players, coaches, and GMs...considering the difference circumstances from being a contender, title winning team to a bottom dweller...there are only a couple of constants. It can't just be amazing coincidence year and year out that we are just lazy no matter who else is on the team and who is coaching it.
