I have to imagine part of the issue with ratings is most of the biggest stars play on the West Coast, making a lot of games hard to watch for fans, Durant, the best/2nd best player in the league is out all year.

Also for the Eastern Conference you have 6 teams 14 games or more over 500, then 9 teams under 500, with the 7th best team being 6 games under .500. Over in the west, its not much better, 7 teams over .500, 1 team at .500 and 7 teams under .500.

The league as a whole has 13 teams over .500. We are still feeling the fall out of GS, you have so many top heavy teams now, very little average teams, and a bunch of bad teams. Bad basketball is not fun to watch.

The other issue with ratings is Dish/Sling dropped the fox regional sports networks. Others followed suit after that. Fubo got rid of them and At&t remove regional sports from alot of their base packages especially with the streaming.

Add to that people who just cut the cord and didn't sign up for a cable alternative who would randomly tune into a game and now just watch Netflix or Hulu instead.

The NBA will have to change their model going forward and rethink the regional sports networks and cable in general as their way to reach an audience. The MLB has already removed blackout rules for streaming. The NBA will have to follow suit and find other ways to get games to a wider audience. Cable TV is dying and sports leagues need to adjust quickly so their business isn't so heavily tied to it.

Durant isn't better than LeBron, Leonard, Harden or Giannis...
Agreed. Nets made horrible decisions in irving and durant. Irving always hurt and toxic in lockerroom. And durant with an achilles. Who knows how he returns

It's not going to be pretty to see the Nets get worked by the Bucks, Celts, Miami, and maybe even the Pacers and 76ers. Irving is a cancer, and Durant is damaged goods. Hell, even Durant has proven to be toxic at times.

I’m not exactly sure what they’re doing in Houston. Their new owner bought a team with prime Harden and immediately starts penny-pinching to get near or under the salary cap and Morey selling the farm knowing he’s probably done after this season. Covington is a good player but not worth Capela + FRP.

If they ran it back with CP3 + Capela and utilizing the multiple FRP they traded for Russ to upgrade they could’ve been favorites IMO.

Houston is all in on five-out basketball is what's going on, I think.

They want five guys who can shoot threes on the court and think Covington is thick enough to defend inside if necessary

Based on playoff seeding they'll have to face Gobert in the first round then AD/LeBron/Howard/McGee front court in the 2nd...yikes! Covington is 6'7" 209 so I'm not sure he helps compared to undersized PJ Tucker who is at least 245.

Positives are they're 3 games out of 2nd seed, match up really well against Clippers and can now switch everything on defense. Harden and Russ will have to earn their rebounds and help out to compensate for lack of size with PJ more than likely mainly boxing out. Maybe Morey sees something in Isaiah Hartlestein (Lefty 7 footer).

I know Rockets fans have been clamoring for Hartenstein to get more minutes. Hopefully, this trade opens up that possibility.

People like to harp on Harden's playoff performances, but Capela is truly the one who failed the Rockets time and time again.

Covington is a big pick up for them in my opinion, and very much worth Capela plus a first.

To be fair he was constantly exposed against the Warriors who no longer exist and played well against other teams such as Utah the past two seasons. However, Capela was a poor fit next to Russ and Covington is an excellent pickup that will space the floor but i thought adding the pick was a little much. I guess it got them under the cap which should appease their terrible owner.

Loving hearing that Dolan has already moved on from his white whale of Masai Ujiri and now is targeting a player agent as GM...

Over/under on Rich Paul getting a call?

Chasing a guy who said he hated your franchise is pretty bold.

Relevant clients under Leon Rose: Devin Booker, Joel Embiid, KAT, Jaren Jackson Jr., Kyle Kuzma, CP3 and our very own Collin Sexton. Leon Rose was LeBron's agents early on and Rich Paul worked under him before he and LeBron started Klutch Sports.

I am just throwing this out there. Who does everyone like from each conference right now? I like Boston and Milwaukee in the East and the two LA teams in the West. If I had to pick right now, I would have the Celtics and Clippers in the finals.

LOVING the Russell-Wiggins trade! It's a rare trade that obviously works for both teams, a true win-win, and it works for the NBA overall because Minnesota was just fucking depressing and it was sad to see KAT stuck in a bad situation. Now the team has a young core of Russel-Towns (just 23 and 24 years old) locked up for 3-4 years. Congrats, Minnesota!

Plus Wiggins is a loser and now the Warriors have him. Still fits them better than trying to play Russell next to Steph though. He's basically just going to be Harrison Barnes 2.0 for them.

He can definitely play the barnes role IMO. Let's hope they don't unlock his cheat code

Remember Barnes was their weakness when we beat them. Yes Wiggins can play that role :)

Lebron took a MAJOR hit this trade deadline with Marcus Morris to the Clippers.
