Myles Garrett : NFL 2023 DPOY

This is amazing

So Myles will be on thin ice with the league which normally gets me nervous for players like a Josh Gordon, but Myles is such a good kid and this was so out of character, I am not really worried about such issues.

He already gets zero holding calls and usually leads the league in offsides penalties so not sure that will change anything. Unpopular opinion: I like crazy Myles.

He earns the offsides penalties, but agree he never gets holding calls against him which is insane considering how often he gets held

Literally almost every defensive series I see a borderline holding no-call. He's always held by his jersey from behind because his first step is so quick. Hell, some guys just tackle him from behind and still see it hardly ever called.

You have to call the penalties fair, regardless of the player's ability. Sadly, he didn't get the calls before and I highly doubt he will moving forward until we start winning some games.

Really he gets held on the bend. He is so quick off the line that when and if Myles makes his bend past the tackle, that is when he is held almost every time.

The jersey holds when the arms are in-between the shoulders is never called in the NFL

Agreed but I was referring to when the OT has his hand on Myles back holding the jersey for dear life - that seems so blatant to the naked eye and it is never called.

I think the bigger problem will be if borderline hits start moving from fines to suspensions in the way they did for Burfict

Myles is nothing like Burfict, but the average NFL fan now has a perception of Myles that is... not good. He has a reputation. And “repeat offenders” are dealt with differently.

Myles doesn’t have a prolonged history, but he does have the single harshest punishment for on field discipline on record.

I hope you are right. But, he will be a target. Opposing players will provoke him constantly trying to incite a reaction. I think the refs will also scrutinize him closely as well. I hope he can keep his cool.

I definitely believe Myles. I mean, just look at Rudolph...

The discussion does not move past what Myles said.

This is the only video I’ve found so far of the interview clip they aired on ESPN tonight.

Myles isn’t buying this lack of audio thing, but kudos to him for saying it doesn’t matter anymore because it doesn’t justify his actions.

Oh, and obligatory “fuck the Steelers”.

I really like Myles. He comes across as intelligent as one could ask after this whole incident.

He is not looking her in the eyes. I have a strange feeling from this.
