It's that time of the year again.
  1. Franmil Reyes becomes the third player in franchise history with a 50+ HR season (Thome, Belle) and breaks Jim Thome's 2002 record for home runs in a single season, as he leads the American League with 55 bombs.
  2. The Indians have three 30-30 players this season - Jose Ramirez, Francisco Lindor, and... Oscar Mercado. Ramirez had a 30-30 season in 2018, Lindor's closest was a 38-25 season in 2018, and Mercado was at a 15-15 mark last season, making him the biggest stretch. Mercado had multiple 30+ SB seasons in the minor leagues.
  3. Bobby Bradley slugs 25 HR and takes over as a regular in the starting lineup against right handing pitching.
  4. Shane Bieber wins the 2020 AL Cy Young Award, beating out top contenders such as Gerrit Cole, Justin Verlander, Blake Snell, Hyun-Jin Ryu, Jose Berrios, and Mike Clevinger. He tops the American League with a 2.27 ERA and 19 wins.
  5. Logan Allen takes over as the legitimate #3 starter in the rotation, behind Cy Young candidates Bieber and Clevinger. He becomes the first good left handed starter the Indians have had since T.J. House, Scott Kazmir, Cliff Lee.

1. Oscar Mercado is optioned to AAA in July
2. James Karinchak strikes out 125+
3. Jordan Luplow is an All-Star
4. Aaron Civale pitches 200+ innings this year
5. Cesar Hernandez has a career year batting over .300 with an OBP% approaching .400

1. Reyes leads the league in HRs
2. Bieber and Clev are second and third in Cy Young to Corey Kluber
3. Clase and Karinchak lead the league in holds. While Hand is one of the top save leaders.
4. Anthony Gose becomes a legit bullpen threat at the big club.
5. The Indians win the World Series in seven games with Greg Allen getting the game winning hit driving in Mike Freeman in the 9th inning and Hand closing out the 9th for his 4th save in the series.

1) Bieber wins the Cy Young
2) Deshields plays the 2nd most innings defensively in the OF (to Mercado).
3) Bauers hit's right around league average but leads the forum in hate posts.
4) Carrasco ends up in the bullpen by mid season due to stamina - and becomes a major weapon.
5) Indians win the WS.

No .300 hitters
No cy young contenders
Lindor gets traded to the Braves
Indians trade for Kluber
Finish 4th in the division 68 wins 94 losses

From last year:
1.trevor bauer gets traded. bc the dolans want to save more money and bc we will need to fill holes.
2. kipnis can't stay healthy. hence why #1 is needed.
3. with Ramirez at 2b he is calmer and more focused at the plate. driving force in the offense during the playoffs
4. salazar becomes the set up man to brad hand. stabilizing a bullpen that struggles out of the gate.
5. dolans put the team up for sale after just missing the world series. leading to lindor signing extension with the new owners I n place

I'll take 1.5 out 5 from last year. bc dolans we found were looking to sell.

1. Jose bounces back and leads team in most batting categories.
2. jake bauers is the surprise amongst the ofs
3. Clevinger is traded bc of how well civale, carrasco, and jefry Rodriguez is doing
4. Tito steps down and Sandy takes over sometime during the season
5. Dolans find another partner and become buyers at the deadline

Here’s my bold prediction: season doesn’t start until late July.
If that’s the case, do we get Frankie for another year since you need 172 “service days”?

My bold prediction.
Season is cancelled.
Just like the nba and nhl, they aren’t coming back.

I don't think the season will start until late June/early July. But imagine a season of only 80 games -- it'd be like one giant pennant race. Total blast.

162 games of anything in the year 2020 is just so unnecessary and out dated. I know there are still a ton of older old school baseball fans in that will say it is what makes baseball unique, but I just don’t see future generations embracing spending their time and money as fans on anything that much for so many months.

Shortening the season by a month on each end would make a lot of sense in terms of weather, and in terms of maintaining fan interest. But it would also mean a significant loss of revenues, and I don't think either the players or the franchises want to deal with that.

I’m 24 and I personally love the 162 game schedule. In years where we don’t have a global pandemic, you can watch your favorite team play like 97% of the days from April to September. It’s awesome.

Yeah I know some people still agree with you, but def a lot less then 30 and 40 years ago. I just don’t see a ton of people 20 years from now buying season tickets for an 82 game home season minus New York Boston and places like st Louis. Also hard to see the next generation giving up 3 to 4 hours a night on a reg basis. You are a die hard but the casual fan which makes up a decent amount of the mlb fan base now, is not able to devote every night to the Sport in terms of time and money.
