I don’t know if this’ll sound dumb but even though I’m super excited about the pick, I was thrilled to hear the detailed logic about it from the org’s brass.

We talked a lot about Berry having trade back tendencies but he just showed if their guy is there he won’t fuck around and get cute. Long way to go, but I’ll always be happy to see us not overthinking.

Edit: I wrote that post like I started learning English 6 months ago. Ffs guys call that shit out

Agree completely mostly. Me like it very much to! Smart guy make smart pick easy!

I don't know how good Wills will be,,hopefully he will be a multiple pro bowler,,but that is one scary dude.
Who wouldn't be crapping their drawers lining up in front of him. He's got a real nasty streak as well.
Love the pick. Baker has no excuses,,,now go get me a safety and a couple linebackers.

How is it possible to score a solid 9 on the Wonderlic? If you did the test with your eyes closed you should do better than that. Solid Browns type pick.
Got a mulligan and scored a 23 the second time.
Not sure what that was all about...

I woke up this morning still not quite believing that the Browns didn't over think this. They didn't try to get cute with trading down "for value", didn't go after Williams, and didn't even use their full five minutes to field trade offers. Their No. 1 tackle was on the board, and they grabbed him.

Just a brilliant offseason so far. Conklin and Wills together simultaneously plug our biggest hole - OL pass blocking - while strengthening the running game, which was our biggest strength. We did that while keeping it financially balanced by pairing an expensive FA with a cost-controlled rookie.

Also, as glad as I am that we took Wills and didn't trade down for Cleveland or trade for Williams, I'm still impressed that the FO clearly laid all the ground work for contingency plans in case the right OT wasn't there at 10.

I admire the process and professionalism even if some of the moves don't work out.

I'm pretty sure, since Thomas doesn't work for the Browns, he can start with Wills right away.

For those worried about the switch, having Callahan as an OL coach and Joe Thomas as a mentor, Wills will be in the best hands possible.

Browns’ pick Jedrick Wills Jr. ’ready to go to the Pro Bowl this year,’ says Joe Thomas

On the quick card turn in - from what I could tell they were starting the next team's clock as soon as the previous pick was turned in, not when it was announced. After the Commish's announcements the next team's clock was always at a different time. When pick 9 came in they were on a commercial and they used some time to blab after the commercial before the announcement. I think we were on the clock long before he announced the 9th pick. I believe that made it seem like we immediately turned our pick in as soon as 9 was announced.

Camp battles (if/when they happen) will be fun between Garrett and Wills. Will help both players to have real competition.

Also, love all that I am reading about Wills's temperament. I want mean guys in the trenches in the AFC North.

I think Becton can be really good- he's obviously an athletic freak with a sky high ceiling. But he seems very risky to me too, and I am glad the Browns didn't take him with both Wills and Wirfs on the board.
